2 months to go! (but i need help!)

omg i can't believe i'm getting married in only 2 months!!!!!!!!!!

i still haven't decided 100% what i want to do about my name (maiden-->middle or just be traditional) and i still need a makeup artist for my BMs. I'm sure many people are booked by now, but I need to find someone who will come to the house and who does nice work -- any suggestions?

we're halfway to our RSVP deadline and have just about half of our responses

I'm totally with you on the name thing. Every time I sign my current name I think, 'do I really want to change it, I've had this name for 41 years'. BUT THEN I go to address an invitation to a couple who have different last names, and hyphenated names and I think 'I'll just change my name to make life easier'

I know, I definitely dont want to do hypenated names but every time I see someone get married and change their facebook name to First Maiden Married, it makes me jealous. It's relatively common in the legal profession to do it that way, but prob because many people had an established career before they were married. Some of my professors go by 'Professor Married' but for publishing and formal references it's 'First Maiden Married' instead of 'First Middle-Initial Married'

My FH has a great last name, but it's super common. I have a really common first name.... I just need to commit to something and get used to it

Me too! I keep going back and forth. Part of the reason I don't want to change is b/c myself and my Dad are the only two left with our last name. I like my middle Name but never use it fully, just the initial so I think what will make me most comfortable is making my maiden name my middle name and adding his name.

That's so exciting. I really wish I could go back to 2 months. A huge piece of advice, do every little thing you can do right now b/c it goes SOOOOOOOOOOOO Fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY....2 months

As far as the last name....I always feel so sad when I think about changing it....by the time I get married it'll be 33 years of my last name!!!!! I am going the traditional route and changing it....but the other day i was daydreaming and decided to sign my new name and it just felt foreign....guess it will take getting used to. Professionally I will hyphenate my name always.

I relaly liked Elena from The Bridal Touch. if it doesn't work out with my SIL's friend, I'll book with her...she is just sooo nice and calming.

Im excited about changing my name - mostly b/c i have to repeat and spell it a million times and FH name much easier

I highly recommend by makeup person - her name is Meadow and is a licensed estitician (sp?)

did you try fresh face forward? she did my makeup on my wedding day.

I changed my name on the marriage license because I read that if you don't change it there you can't go back and alter your license. I didn't change it anywhere else though. I'm not changing it at work at all; and I'm just going to wait and see if and when I feel like changing it. DH has an annoying last name that sounds fine with his but when paired with my very ethnic first name sounds like a weird animal species. so i'm keeping mine for now.

I totally hear ya on the name thing. I was undecided up until the wedding, but now that I'm married I REALLY dont want to change it. Unfortunately DH doesnt agree with me...he is INSISTENT. I changed my social security card already, but havent done anything else.

Its SO funny. Most the men that I ask about this subject are adamant that their wives change their name. And most of the women are all ambivalent.

I don't really want to change, but I know FH would be hurt.

I am irish, FH is italian. I feel like I am giving up a part of my ethnicity!

I was told I could keep my maiden name in lieu of my middle name, but it is sooooo long. My name is 8 letters his is 7 and I like my middle initial.

I think at work I will keep my maiden name and then use his name everywhere else on documentation, etc.

changing my name ?? I always said NO way jose but now I think differently - when fh's brother was married he got annoyed everytime his sil still had her maiden name - now he tells me to keep my name if I want.
