2 more days until I'm back in NY!

So the FH and I fly the red-eye back to NYC tomorrow night. It's his 30th birthday weekend and he wanted to spend it with all of our friends back home.

I of course, took this as a wonderful opportunity to FINALLY look at reception halls! I have been researching wedding venues non-stop but obviously couldn't see any in person since we live on the West Coast.

We definitly want to have our wedding in Brooklyn to make it easier for not only us, but our friends and family. We'll have limited time when we're back in NY for our wedding, so we want to make sure we waste no time and maximize every minute of the wedding weekend with our families.

We're looking at Giando's on the Water & Dyker Beach Golf Course this weekend.

So excited!! I'll let you ladies know how my meetings go!

Dyker Beach Golf Course if pretty new and literally up the ave from FH's house. Let me know how it is, I haven't seen the inside

Incidentally, we're getting married in church near there and our reception is a Russo's in Queens, about 20 mins away.

I don't know what your budget is, but El Caribe is awesome as well.

My job holds their annual Holiday party at Giando's.. It is such a beautiful place.. the views are amazing. Their food is delicious too..

Happy birthday to your FH and good luck with the venues...I know you'll have a blast and as soon as you book it you will feel a tremendous stress lifted off your shoulders

We ended up booking Giando on the Water today! Super excited, we now officially have a date. 7-22-11!!!!

We did also look at Dyker Beach Golf Course, which was beautiful but we were looking more for a venue with the City skyline and cocktail reception on the water with the all of the Bridges in sight. If anyone is looking for a country club feel, without traveling to LI or Westchester, then Dyker is great.

My best friend, who is one of my bridesmaids, got married there. We loved Water's Edge but it was a little out of our price range. Her wedding was spectacular!
