2 puppies????

We are picking up our 2 husky pups today and was wondering if anyone else got 2 pups at the same time before.
We realize it's going to be difficult but each of us fell in love with a different pup. But in the end, when our schedules are hectic, they can keep each other compny.
any advice?????

Yes.

RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!

Just kidding...my sister actually did that. I have to be honest...it matters on the type of attitude to dogs have. It can go either way.

Just make sure you keep them blocked away from anything they can get their heads into that is breakable...or dangerous.

are they fromt he same litter? thats nice for the dogs since they have a playmate...I worry that if we get a second dog now...that our baby will be upset/jealous...

I think crating s going to be pretty important for you guys...

yeah we puppy proofed the house yesterday and got lots of chewy toys.
How about tips on housebreaking two? Is it easier or tougher?

Different litter but same dad so they have been together from birth.

can you take a week or two off work? it is very hard to house train dogs
I got my puppy when I had the summer off for the bar
they have to go out like every hour! to learn
do you have someone who can come over and let them out to go to the bathroom for you like three times a day or so?

Re: 2 puppies????

DH will be home pretty much for the next two weeks which is why we're getting them now. I have to work but his schedule slows down considerably once the summer is over. Of course I'll be there on the weekends.
We're not big on crating especially since we will have two, but maybe putting a baby gate up. Does this work the same?

You can get two separate crates and have them face each other so they can look at each other
also, a baby gate can work but you should put newspaper down this way the gate will keep them in a room but they still might go on the floor

WEll, I know to expect a few accidents. But will they need less attention from us since they have each other?
Any more tips from those who have been through raising pups?

Re: 2 puppies????

I've always said that when we get our puppies ... soon! ... I want 2 from the same litter. I think its much better for them to have each other, especially when you're out of the house a lot. My older dog (living w/Mom) is always so sad when we go out ... I could not bear to do that to another dog!

good luck w/your new puppies! No tips, unfortunately, please keep us updated as to how its going. I'm interested to find out if you should crate them together or separately. You'll be an expert soon enough!

We didn't pick up 2 at the same time, but she was a handful. WE got her at 6 weeks and I have TONS of advice if you need it. We housetrained her by ourselves and we both work alot....and now we have the most precious pup ever....did I forget to mention that she's a 95 lb Rottweiler that likes to sit in my lap and cuddle in bed with us???? Feel free to FM me for e-mail or instant messenger name to chat about my experience!

****edited to say the BEST advice is to crate them!!...she goes in there now just to 'chill'
