I would love to know what ice sculpture you are using - I need some creative ideas!! Also, I wanted to know if anyone else is using the votive candle place cards? I just want to make sure it's ok before I order all the supplies for the candles! Thanks!!

we're not doing the ice sculpture...we're having an extra floral display instead. and i dont' think they would have a problem with the votive holder placecards......you should call to check just in case

I had an ice sculpture- the vase with flowers-it was beautiful but I had to pay- I think an extra $50 for the flowers.
I also did the votive placecards. The watermill was really excited about them. I gave them detailed instructions for how I wanted them set up. At first they were not going to light them but that is the whole purpose of them- they understood. I got married in Sept so my cocktail hour was outside. The place card table with the lit votives were set up right at the front door, so before the guests made their way to the back they saw the table. They looked really pretty. But to be honest- we put so much work into them and more than half of the guests did not take their votive. I dont know if they thought they were suppossed to leave them there or if they didnt want to carry them but I took home more than half of them. I also had the staff bring any votives that were left on the place card table to the persons table at the reception.
I also bought those lighting wands so that the staff could easily lit them. I was really worried about them- but they set them nice.

The Watermill will allow it, unless they changed from Septemeber. My banquet manager brought Samantha into the room when I showed him the finished product and they were really excited about the idea. My Maitre d' that day was a little iffy with them- but I told him what was already planned and discussed with the manager. If it is a fire safety thing- I told them to have two waiters standing at the table and tell the guests to blow the candle out once they pick it up- most guests that did pick it up did blow it out.
