2 questions.. help :o)

Hey girls, I have a couple of q's for ya...

1. My wedding is gonna be in Dec. Is tea length ok for my BMs or do I have to have a full length gown? I love the tea length look, but I don't want it to look weird.

2. Dress shopping. Everywhere I go to try things on, the dresses swim on me and I can barely tell the style or design. Does anyone know of places that carry smaller sizes to try on? I'm barely 5'2 and very tiny and I look like I got lost in a sea of fabric, lol. Anyone else have this prob??
TIA

Well, as far as #1 goes, I believe it is more of a preferance question than whats 'right' or 'wrong'....Personally, I would not do tea length in Dec...but again, thats just ME. I think its ok if you did it- its your wedding!!

#2... I wish I could help you here but I do not know any store that have the smaller sizes like you need I sorry

1. tea length does give a more summer/spring look.. but its really all up to you!

2. i have the same problem... they always need like 5 clips on the dresses... every store has random sizes.. the only one that had all sizes was davids bridal

i think db is your only choice for smaller gowns... most places only have sizes 10-12... i had to have the dreses clipped and even then some clips were popping off because there was too much material scrunched up in it... its really hard to get an idea when theres so much extra material, but us petite girls really dont have that much of a choice

Tea length is more of a summer / spring thing, but don't forget, it's YOUR day. Do what makes YOU happy!

The bridal shops should be able to get the smallest size they have avalable and clasp in with those big clips. My friend is super tiny like you and that's what they had to do... Otherwise, just try calling all local places to see if they carry smaller sizes...

Well...if you are having an afternoon wedding even though it's December I think it would like nice. If it's an evening wedding I would try to stay with a longer gown...but...It's your day and regardless it will be beautiful.

And for number two...I wish I had that problem!! I'm sorry!!

#1 I personally wouldnt do tea length in December but its all about your preference

#2 I would see if they could clip it a certain way so you can get more of an idea of how it would look?

I personally think for December, a floor legnth gown should be worn. BUT if you do tea length which I think is gorgeous BTW, opt for very heavy fabrics and have them wear closed toes shoes with a stole or a wrap. I think that would look fantastic.

As for dresses, I am a size 2-4 and I had this issue when trying on dresses. Bridal Reflections had a lot of large samples so everything had to be clipped. If you want to find what type of dress you like first, go to David's Bridal because they have your size to try. Then from there, it would be easy to narrow it down. That's what I did.

#1 - i dont think tea length is good for december - i am getting married this december and although my favorite BM dresses ARE tea length, i didnt think it would fly with the girls - december is cold - even october/november is cold for tea length dresses so i chose to go with a full length gown....my wedding is also during the evening and i felt a long gown would be more appropritae for the type of wedding i am having - when i think of night time during the winter i picture very elegant almost black tie...i dont know why, i just do

#2 - i also had the same problem with dresses - im 5 feet tall and 94 lbs - im tiny tiny tiny - you are just going to have to grin and bear it - i never heard of a place that has small samples - the smallest sample i tried on was a melissa sweet size 6 and it was still swimming on me....even when my dress came it was huge on me and they ordered the smallest size...everything had to be ROLLED in the back and then clipped - it was ridiculous, but you can still get an idea - kind of

I think the length is more of a preference ... personally I think its more of a summer/casual thing ... I would go long, but you have to like it.

Did you try RK Bridal ... they have small sizes and so does Kleinfelds

Thanks, girls! In the back of my head I knew I'd have to go with floor length. I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. And for dresses, I'll keep trying and looking. I hate those darn clips, lol.

In answer to #1 IMO tea length is cold for December. BUT at the same time it's up to you. It's your day and you do it how you want it

#2 I know that DB has smaller sizes and I even got to try on my actual size dress. The drawback to DB is they have their own sizing and they run differently than if you were to go to a bridal store. I went to Fanstasia Bridal and the dresses were swimming on me so much that I felt that I couldn't even get an idea of how it would look. I feel your pain
