2 questions regarding invites

Just out of curiousity,
When you put the year, is it:
two thousand seven
OR
two thousand and seven?

Or it can be done either way?

Secondly, on the response cards,
Is is M__________________

OR

Name__________________

Or, either way?

Thanks!!

We were always taught that you may use 'and' if the number is over 100, but only for the last digit (ie: you may not say 'two thousand and one hundred' for 2100. Catholic school - very thorough, slightly obsessive).
So, two thousand and seven is ok, and two thousand seven is not incorrect, but I don't think it looks as good.

Also,
M____________

I think, in French, M. covers every social title, and since 'RSVP' is a French notion.....

Name______ lookes like a DMV form. Not as classy as anything French.

The 'and' in the date has become a thing of personal preference. Technically according to the 'rule books', it's not correct to put the 'and' there, although MANY MANY invitation companies print the date with the and. So do whatever you like better. For what it's worth, we did not include the 'and'.

You can put either
M___________
or
Name___________

We did 'M_____________' on our english invites, but we did 'Nombre_____________' on our Spanish invites (nombre is name in Spanish) because they are not familiar with formal American wedding invitations and we wanted to make sure they understood what that line was for.
