2 seperate photogs?

Just kinda curious and figured I'd ask fellow bride's opinions.

you see one of the places I'm considering booking with has an all inclusive package. Although I like the work the in house photographers have to offer ..they are very traditional in style.
there is a more photojournalist style photographer I'm an aquaintance with, and I really like his work.(although he doesn't do alot of traditional shots)
So my question would be do you think its a little uncouth of me to possibly hire two separate photographers?

I mean will they consider it as offensive If I purchased both of them?

will it be an issue..if they are trying to take the same shots?

lastly has anyone actually done this before?

its been done... but you should really discuss this with the photogs themselves... you dont want there to be an issue that day

I would check and see if they even allow it. Some photographers require that they are the MAIN shooters for your day, meaning they're the only professionals taking all the photos with the possible exception of DJ zap shots or your videographer. I'm pretty sure my photogs have that in our contract. So I would ask to see their contract first.

You should check with the photogs because some photogs have it in they're contracts that they are to be the sole photographers working the event.

I wouldn't. They';ll get bin each other's way. It's one thing if you have 2 photos from the same co. Those photos already have a routine.

Definitely speak with the photog you booked with first to see if he allows this. Maybe you can hire your 2nd photog as a background person meaning the first one would have full control and the second photog would take mostly candids and photojorunatlistic pics ie: stay in the background

I had 2...I had 2 photogs with Thomas Paul and one was my friend's husband from Kandila Photography Plus we had zap shots from the DJ. You can never have too many photos!!!!!

I wanted to do this, but both photographers had it in their contract that only they could shoot the day of...
