2 weddings at same venue????

2 weddings at same venue????

Okay so kinda frustrated ( I know...how surprising? lol)

I really love the VYC but my concern now --> they allow two weddings at once. I have never been to a wedding when another one was going on, and honeslty...can't imagine it. Does anyone know someone who has had a wedding at a venue with another wedding going on, had one...etc..

I would hate to not have it at the VYC because someone else is there as well..but I just think it would run more smoothly if their undividied attention (kitchen staff, etc) was directed towards you seeing as how much they charge.

Apparently the VYC will allow you to have the whole palce if you have a large party. Right now I only anticipate 150 people and coming up with another 150 just to have the whole place - well thats just outrageous...

Help...whats it like to have 2 weddings at the same place ????

Thanks!
Michele

A lot of brides say you dont even notice that there's another wedding going on. If it was a huge problem, a lot of these RHs would be losing business which doesn't seem to be the case.

However, one of the 2 important factors for me was to have one wedding at a time for many of the reasons you mentioned. I like having the place all to myself and for our guests. Just a personal preference though.

It really doesn't bother me. The way I think of it in terms of my own wedding, although it's your special day and you want to seem like the only bride on the planet, you're not. These catering places do tons of events everyday and their job is to cater to each party as if they were the only one. You wouldn't split a maitre-d or bridal attendant and those two people would ensure that your whole party has everything they could possibly need. I think as long as you're going with an RH with an excellent reputation, there's nothing to worry about. Just my opinion and I'm sure lots of other people would disagree.

2 of my cousins and 2 of FH cousins got married at the Watermill and they have tons of weddings going on.....honestly as a guest I didn't think it effected the wedding....but I did choose my RH knowing I would be the only bride there.

Their are alot of wedding venues that cater to more than one wedding at a time. Then, there are those places that have just one (North Ritz Club). I wouldn't worry about another wedding going on at the same time. Alot of venues are very conscientious of this and they make sure that everything goes well.

A lot of venues do this, and they do an amazing job of not letting you see the other party. My MOH had her wedding at Leonard's, a beautiful place that has several parties going on, and they moved her around like the secret service to make sure that she didn't see any of the other brides, I didn't even see a party guest and there were several parties going on. You'll be fine! VYC is a beautiful place, don't get discouraged by this! Im sure you won't even notice the other parties.

ok i know how you feel, I am getting married at the meadow club and i am using the small room b/c we arent havent that many ppl so when we went to go book with the BM told us that there is a wedding about 2 hours after ours starts. I thought that it wouldnt be that bad b/c my party would already be started and there would just begin so it would be ok.

I have always heard that you are not even able to tell there is another wedding going on. Ive been to two weddings where there have been two weddings going on and you really had no idea.

a lot of places do this. ive been to weddings at jericho terrace and russos on the bay when both had more than one wedding going on and it was never a problem - the only way i knew there was another party was because i saw people from the weddings when i was outside smoking cigarettes or using the ladies room. they usually stagger the parties a little so that they dont start at exactley the same time....my RH is JT and im not worried about it - i dont mind if i see another bride there at all. i LOVE seeing brides!

It really depends on the place you pick and how they stagger the weddings. At CLM I am the second wedding of the day, but I won't even notice the other wedding because they will be a couple hours into the reception if not almost done by the time my cocktail hour is over and the room is on another floor. I have been to weddings where there has been 3 at a time and never even knew it. This was a huge concern of mine in the beginning, but I somehow got over it. It also helps with the price per person. My second choice was the Bourne Manison, which had a site fee and more money per person but only did one wedding at a time. I would have had to go with Friday instead of Saturday there too. FH and I really wanted a Saturday since most of our relatives are all over and it seemed more relaxing for us. My advice is to weigh all your options, then list the pros and cons.

that was one of the biggest factor that i wanted. we wanted to be the only people in the place.

ALL THIS IS SO HELFUL! Much love and appreciation to all my fellow brides....don't think I could be doing this without you....no matter how helpful my FH and mom are...your in my shoes and you know just how intense this all is...

big hugs X

Personally I wanted a place with one wedding at a time. (but thats me, I need to be center of everyones attention! )
But FH and I went to VYC because we heard really good things from another hall that we couldnt use bc of guest size. Anyway when we were there I voiced my concern about how I didnt really want to go somewhere with two weddings and they told me that I could have it in my contract that I would be the only wedding and they would book a regular party instead, which made me feel a better. In the end VYC was one of my top three.

FYI: The Watermill only has two weddings going on at one time. Both weddings begin at different times to help the transition.

my venue has 2 weddings but on opposite sides from eachother...my wedding will basically be the main event (not to sound coneited LMFAO but thats what the BM said) the other wedding is for a smaller reception and i would have the ceremony room the CH room and main room all nite at my disposal

Re: 2 weddings at same venue????

Mine can in reality do 4 at a time... 1 of the rooms has its own bathroom and separate entrance so thats 1 down... I really dont think i'd care about sharign the place (obviously since i booked there right?) They know what they are doing and can handle it i'm sure... otherwise they wouldnt be doin it... Its not like you're only going to see your waiters/bartenders half of the time b/c they are running back n forth between weddings... My hall spaces out the time of the rooms so you're really not gonna run into one another... There wont be 2 ceremonies going on at once... nor will there will 2 CH's at the same time

Ask about how they do the timing of the 2... it might make u feel better about it!

Re: 2 weddings at same venue????

my RH can do more then 1 at a time, and it really doesnt bother me, im not the type of person to see things as another bride is having it the same day! omg im doomed lol...it doesnt bother me at all. as long as MY guests enjoy MY wedding, i wont be worrying about what else is going on in the RH

when we went to visit jericho terrace to look at the venue, there were 3 events going on ! and honestly there werent people running around all over the place, the hallways were quiet, and i was pleasantly surprised. on the other hand, i dunno how the service was for each event but nice to know the grounds and hallways were under control
