2 Weeks before wedding should i change Florist!?!??!?!?

Months ago when we originally picked a florist we sat down to do an estimate and we approximated 15 tables. Knowing we had no idea what our final number would be (hence we didn’t know how many centerpieces we would need) we asked her what was the date that we could add/subtract. She told us 10/21/08. Today my FH goes in and said we only need 11 tables, and we would like a refund (we paid in FULL I know STUPID STUPID, but this is a family friend and I assumed she would do right by us) She refused. 'its not worth it to me to even do at this point, u might as well just get a FULL refund' Hands down said she could not refund us, no way no how. The best she could do is ONE centerpiece ($145). I get on the phone with her and explain to her that the contract had NO SPECIFIC minimums or maximums stated as far as centerpieces the only stipulation is the date to which she needed to know by, for ordering purpose. She hasn’t even ORDERED the flowers yet. She just goes on and on about how it’s a package deal, and she will give the 15 centerpieces. I’m just in shock that this is happening. A friend told me to give her guy a call and he quoted us around the same price, now i dont know WHAT to do,,,,,Not sure how to deal with this situation, what would you do? We are talking 580 bucks, which right now is A LOT of money to us. Ughhh so frustrated. Any advice?

is she willing to give you a full refund if she not willing to refund you for 4 tables???

bc if not i would suck it up and just use her, to put that money again would completely suc k, maybe she can upgrade a few things for you, maybe bigger centerpieces or something

Wow..this is a tough one here. Do you know if the Florist you already booked WILL give back ALL your money? She could say that she can't refund it... I mean, if she is giving you are hard time about taking 4 CPs off, I think she would give you a harder time giving you the FULL amount back. What if you threathened her that you DID find another florist that will do what YOU want... see how she reacts to that. I would also do this in person...Venders in my opinion are less caring over the phone... Hope that everything works out for you!

Shop around and see if you can find another vendor (reputable) that will work with you on pricing and will have the date available. I would not risk your flower vendor being pissy as your flowers are being made since 'it's not worth her time'. Although 2 weeks is short two weeks is enough time.
Try posting on Vendors helping Brides to see if anyone can help you.

Some family friend.....is the second guy you called giving you the same price as the original or the same price after the numbers were adjusted?

I would post on the vendors board.. and if anything I would try and rebook.. if not.. see if they can upgrade and let me tell you - i would make sure that family friend got no further business from the family or anyone else within earshot that I could tell of the terrible customer service they are giving you..

All the other stuff aside, do you like her work? Was the sample she showed you what you wanted? If so I think you should stay with her. Maybe you can compromise and she'll refund you for 2 instead of 1. Then you can take the other 2 and maybe use them somewhere else (i.e. placecard table, memorial table, etc.) I just think that its only 2 weeks left why start from scratch with someone new. Not to mention that she didn't even say that she would give you a refund, she was probably just being sarcastic when she said she might as well refund you everything. JMO. I hope it all works out.

I would contact the better business bureau and get ALL of your money back somehow... get 7 on your side or something LOL In the meantime, call around, and see if you can get someone else to do your wedding... and then tell the woman to go fcuk herself
