and the priest at our church who is suppose to be marrying us announced that he has resigned today.
What am I suppose to do now?
The only other priest in the church has a very heavy accent and I don't want him to marry us.
I'm so upset! I don't need this stress so close to the wedding!

Awwww, I'm so sorry to hear that!! I'm sure you are devastated, but don't worry...everything will work itself out!
Try putting out a post asking if anyone can recommend someone...people will (hopefully) be more than happy to help out if they can

why would he resign knowing hes suppose to marry you...ughh thats ridiculous im so sorry,..can you speak to him maybe they can get another priest from another church who doesnt have an heavy accent

Are you having a mass or only ceremony? You can have a deacon from your church marry you for the ceremony and if your having the full mass the priest with the accent can be the celebrant and the deacon can do the 'marrying' part.

Def ask if they have any recommendations - some churches will allow you to have a 'guest' so maybe you can find another priest to do it at that church

Yikes! Why did he do that? And knowing that he is leaving you in a lurch?
Does he or the Church have any other recommendations? We are having a deacon marry us instead of a priest (no mass)
