so Our affordable wedding turned out to be not so affordable...THINGS ADD UP!
I will getting married at the Sterling which offers an amazing all inclusive package for 100 guests. Cost per extra guest at our package is $60.00 pp which is still awesome considering what they're offering...
Well, after meeting most of our vendors, we've had to upgrade on EVERYTHING!
We didn't even go with their limos because we werent impressed with their fleet and really wanted the trolley! lol
Anyway, point is...I wish we would have known exactly what we were getting...It probably wouldn't have changed anything since we would have had to get those things regardless. I just feel so ovewhelmed and well, BROKE!
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same...
oh and every vendor thus far takes cash or check only. No credit cards. (some did for deposits) Even the Sterling is all cash and that gives me heart palpitations! lol we're basically paying this whole wedding alone...I'm just worried we won't even be able to afford a honeymoon:(

yeah, I DO remember V. The thing is I can't get away from having 225 guests at the very least as much as i try to tweak the darn list! :(
The Sterling did tell us what we were getting but it wasn't really fully explained vendor per vendor until we met with them. I didn't like the limos we got so I had to get something else, The dj is awesome but we were gettnig no MC and lighting so we had to upgrade that, of course we have to get more centerpieces...I don't know things just got bigger and bigger and before we knew it, it got expensive

I'm really sorry you are stressed...I think we all go through that at some point since the amount of money is HUGE and probably more than any of us had ever spent before.
The good thing is that you won't have any credit card debt when this is over, do you know how AWESOME that is? 200 days is still plenty of time to keep saving. And I would save all the upgradding till closer to the date so you see if your budget allows it
eta: and since you wont have to use wedding gift money toward any wedding bills, you could probably take a very nice honeymoon if you wanted!

sorry you are going through this. Are they taking money off from the package price when you have to go with another vendor, if you havent asked yet you should. Im not sure how packages work because I know my hall has one but I had no interest in a package deal but another girl on here is getting married at the same hall with the package and she said if you drop a vendor they take some money off.

well, The sterling does give us a small credit for vendors we don't use which is gone. I'm not really upset with them to be honest because I still find the package to be reasonable....Im more mad at myself for thinking that would be it, just the 60 bucks per person and small extras like chair covers, etc. I never even thought about adding anything to the vendors.
We want to go to Disney World for the honeymoon which isnt too bad price wise its just we're worried we are going to be left with no money what so ever. There's also first months rent and security...:(
I'm sure we can figure it out but it doesnt stop worrying me!

i hope it all works out in the end
like anney said, i would save the upgrades until the very end. I would focus on paying/saving for all the bare minimums first
things like chair covers and uplighting are not necessities so I would leave those things for last
focus more on paying for each guest, officiant, dress etc. you know the staples of the wedding
200 days is a lot of time, save every penny, no coffee, no 7-11, no starbucks, nada!!!
we all feel broke while planning on a wedding it's normal
