2008 Bride Needs Veil Help

Hi girls,

Most of you have already been through the which veil looks better stage. I just bought my dress last week and am not sure what type of veil would look nice with it. I orginally wanted a spanish mantilla (cathedral) veil. But am not sure how that would look.

Any pictures would be great.

take a photo of your dress to Bridal Veil Falls in NYC.
www.customveilnyc.com, and she will make you a veil that is PERFECT. She owns a small shop that does just that.....veils......she is a designer and she is WONDERFUL.

Reasonably priced, too.

I don't think a mantilla would go with your dress. I wanted one too at first. Your dress has similar beading to mine and unfortunatley I tried it and it just does not work! I was so stubborn about it that I was trying to make it work and...all of the sales people, including the dress designer was like no way! I think that a plain, cathedral veil would look beautiful with your dress. Bye the way, you dress is gorgeous! b I love it!

First off, I am in love with your dress!!!! It's beautiful!

Second, I agree that a cathedral length veil would be gorgeous with it. I'm not so sure I like the lace/mantilla look with this dress though. I would go with either a plain cathedral, a pencil edge cathedral, or a crystal'd edge cathedral. You could even have a few scattered crystals on the veil.

You should check out the gallery on www.occanseydesigns.com ... she has a TONNNN of pictures of different styles - to give you an idea. She also custom makes them and her prices are wonderful. GettinHutched recently got hers from Kathy at Occansey.

Check out the veil in my items for sale album

If you decide not to go with mantilla but stil want cathedral, its a comb with two veils attached. The fingertip is just shy of 3 feet and then attached via velcro is a 9 1/2 foot long Cathedral Length veil. Both have scattered pearls along last foot of veil. It is just a touch of pearls- not gaudy at all.

I know what you mean. I had it on and everything...I was determined to make it work. Everything that I had envisioned had always been a with a mantilla. But, the dress won! Besides, I don't know about you, but at the reception I'm taking the veil off after the first dance. The dress is more important and its beauty will outweigh the veil. Mantillas are gorgeous...but SO are plain veils!
Good luck and keep me posted!
