i am getting married late 2008 november so far i have the church booked and the RH....as far as video/photo i started looking last week... but my dress...my BM dresses... florist...dj/band....limos....invitations...favors...i think it is too early to start booking???? yes i have been getting ideas from this site magazines and what not but WHEN is a good time to start booking everything what have other 2008 brides booked so far????

no way! u should start booking as soon as possible... i got engaged a year and a half before i got married and went to look at rh's right away and i only had two dates to choose from the summer i was getting married.. and the band i wanted was booked already as well as the makeup artist, etc. so u should start right away . my dress took 9 months to come in after i actually found it also..

i think you should just start taking one at a time.. i got engaged in Sept and we have all but limos florsist and dresses done.. i feel behind.. so def get started!

I dont think it's too early. I'm getting married the week before you and I already have the RH, church, limos and yesterday I ordered my dress...next week we have appts with a photographer and then starting lookin at DJs/bands...so i dont think its too early..the next year goes by soooooo fast! you watch

thank you...that is how i feel that everything goes so fast but then you hear people saying you have time....once the photo/video is booked hopefully this week...i will move on to limos....

We booked our DJ/Band in 2006 and not getting married until May 2008 and Im happy we did b/c from what I hear they are not really available for many more dates in 2008. So get started girl!! Take one at a time and start with the big stuff like Photographer/Video, Band/DJ since you did your RH already.

i'm in the same boat as you are!! I thought I was ahead of the game but apparently we're waaaay behind!!! i'm starting to freak out but don't want to drive my FH crazy!

it's never to soon to book the big things. you don't want to wait to long, have your heart set on someone to find out they're already booked.

I think for each bride it varies, also times of the year. You're getting married in the fall, which is considered peak season (for some vendors, that is) so try to get your major vendors out of the way. Like RH, Entertainment, photog/video, florist. I think limos you can wait on a bit, unless you want a specific type of car.
As for your dress, although you want to pick your dress ASAP there are so many out there. Maybe start with BM dresses first,,,,what will look good on all your bm and colors, meanwhile maybe you can try on a lot of different dresses and see what's out there. What do you look good in and so on.

i would start booking now. i went to a few places that i had my eye on such as photo and dj n they were booked already for my date
im just sayin if u like someone or have idea of who you like...start booking now. you would be surprised at how many places were booked already for nov 08

i am getting married 9/26/2008. i have already booked my rh, church, limos, photographer and dj. I also have my dress and have picked out the mens wear and bridemaids dresses. Now bms have not purchased there dresses yet so the bm dresses could change but i am pretty sure i have found them. we are working on finding a videogragher and looking for save the dates. We also have a family friend we is a florist who is doing the flowers but we havn't discusssed what flowers we want yet. We are going to wait until next year to do invitations and favors.
You would be surprised how fast some places book up. We started planning in june. And some places were already booked for our date. and as for wedding dress. some take 6 months or more to come and then you need time for fittings and alterations. so just make sure you alway enough time.

i would start booking asap....fh and i waited since we had two years from when we got engaged to plan our wedding and we too jsut booked rh at first......as we started getting into the other plans, we found places were already booked up for 2008....i definately rec. getting out there sooner than later.....

i woul also start booking asap.. u can prob get some vendors to give u '07 rates if u book in 07, u'll have a better idea of what u need to save and how much. and u won't feel so pressed later on.. i'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks so i'm determined to get EVERYTHNG booked before i go bck to work.. then all i'll have to do is play round wit the invites, menus, and programs.. and make the payments of course..

I would start looking around, getting quotes for everything as soon as possible. Vendors in LI (especially the popular ones) book up fast! If you see someone/something you like- book it! I have all of my major vendors booked...
