2011 bride crashing! Please help!

Does anyone know if it is really expensive to have cherry blossoms for centerpieces when they are not in bloom??? After looking at tons of pics of cherry blossom centerpieces and cakes (as you can see from my albums ) I now have my heart set on having cherry blossoms at my wedding. I love the simple, elegant and romantic look of cherry blossoms. FH and I haven't set our date yet but are planning on a mid to late June wedding. If they are too expensive when they're not in bloom I am considering booking for mid to late May instead of June. I just wanted to see if anyone knows approximately how much they would go for when they're not in season AND how much they would go for when they are in season. Also, does anyone know if they would still be in bloom mid to late May?? TIA!

I'm also doing a cherry blossom themed wedding....unfortunately my florist told me it would be impossible to get actual cherry blossoms...obviously since my wedding is in August. He also said that this year was terrible for cherry blossoms and they were only in bloom for about 2 days! I'm pretty sure they are in bloom in April when they are in bloom but I could be wrong about that. I decided to just do light color roses mixed with dark pink and ivory and just do everything else cherry blossom (cake, favors, doing pink and brown menus and programs, etc.) I was really disappointed when I found out I couldnt have the flowers but I am hoping that just having the colors will look okay. Anyway- I hoped I helped. I hope you find a way to get cherry blossoms at your wedding because I think they look amazing...classic and elegant!

They bloom in April, the peak of Cherry Blossoms is in Washington DC and they usually estimate they will bloom the first week of April, they only bloom for about two weeks.

Here's a link to a Royalton bride that did a cherry blossom theme. She used Verbena Designs as her florist, they may be able to give you some quotes, etc. I've heard only GREAT things about Jen from Verbena. Cherry Blossom Wedding review Good luck!

if they aren't in season. what about getting silk flowers, or real touch flowers? they can look just as beautiful if you get them from the right place.

linky

just an idea. there were a lot of sites for silk cherry blossoms, but not for real touch, but maybe worth investigating
