Ok Guys... Let the posts on 2012 Bridal Shower Begin!
We are going to have a Chinese Auction at the 2012 Bridal Shower. So I need your help.
We are going to ask various vendors to donate a gift certificate for the auction. But I need your help. I have no problem emailing all the vendors but I figured they may be more receptive to someone they are already dealing with.
I have already reached out to many vendors and have received the following:
1. 2 Tickets to TWOTY from Client Services 2. 50 Gift Certificate to Jenerations 3. $50 Gift Certificate to Jenerations 4. Piece of Cake Events (She will get back to me with what exactly she is going to donate) 5. Camalot (I am going to speak to him on Thursday or Friday as to what the certificate is going to be for)
I have already reached out to: 1. Variety Music 2. Patken 3. my invitation vendor 4. Inn at Fox Hollow 5. For the Modern Bride
Please email me at [email protected] with the vendors that you are going to reach out to so that I make sure only one person is asking the place. Kim informed me that there is a new policy that you can only post prizes for the event given from LIWeddings/NYCityWeddings vendors.
Also, they can send the Gift Certificate to me (10 Leghorn Court, Huntington Station, NY 11746). Please make sure you FM me what gift certificates that you get confirmed so that I can keep my list up to date!

That would be great if you can reach out to those vendors. Let me know as they respond to you.
I would email them something like this:
Dear _____-:
We are planning a bridal shower for the 2012 brides from the site Long Island Weddings. As you probably know, LIW is a site for brides to help with planning weddings. We are having a chinese auction at the shower and are asking wedding vendors if they would be willing to donate a gift certificate to the event. This is a great opportunity for you as well since all of the people attending are planning a wedding! Please let me know if you are able to help!

I'll donate a Mary Kay basket. If you girls are interested, there's a coffee company that donates a whole basket if you just write to them and say you're having an event. I can send you the info if you want. I'd do it for you guys but I'm already networking out to them for an event for work. I know it's not wedding related but it is free stuff

I am going to come up with the rules. I have not decided yet. But everyone is going to be given a certain number of tickets for coming. I may think of ways to earn or buy more tickets. You put the ticket in the bag that has the prize you want and then I will draw one ticket at the end of the day and they in the prize!

Mara...I have done chinese auctions with some school events I have put on. One idea for rules could be that everyone gets one ticket for coming and then you can buy extras. The money we earn from the tickets that are bought can go to a charity of our choosing. Something like 1 tickets for $3, 3 for $5...

I am going to do something like that. But I also want to add ways to get tickets without having to pay! I am also going to have a 50/50 at the event with the money going to a charity. I will have another post about what charities to work with and then a poll as to which organization wins!
Once we finalize the place I am going to have another post be the official shower post and give alot more information and be reaching out to people to help with different things!

I agree with thinking of ways to hand out more tickets without having to pay..looks like we're gonna need lots of tickets with all these amazing giveaways floating in!
