I have booked everything except DJ and Limo.
I have not had any problems booking anything, nor have I heard you are booking too early!

I booked everything but DJ, Limo, and hair and makeup....The photographer, Videographer, hall and church were not suprised that i booked 2 yrs in advance.

I think there are pros and cons to booking early...
pros: you get everything out of the way, you can lock in prices.
cons: your taste/preferences/ideas might change so far in advance.
I am going to wait until this summer to start booking vendors (except RH, which we booked already, and I am glad I did since we have the date and don't need to worry about it). That way it will be a year and a half in advance.
I think it just depends on your preference!

I have booked hall nd church.. next spring i plan on booking everythin else... flowers will be last bc i need to decide on bridesmaid dresses and colors

be careful of booking early though. Make sure you use companies that have been in business a long time. Brides have have issues w companies going out of business. And definitely don't pay it all off really early. You need a bargaining chip if you have issues w a vendor.

We booked our hall 2 years 3 months in advance and was able to REALLY negotiate on price. So as far as the RH goes, I would book as early as possible.

I booked the hall and ceremony place within a few days of being engaged and I just booked photo and video and I bought my dress in October..LOL

I agree it isnt too early..i def have heard 'isnt it soon?' from a few like my church (we were the first '12 wedding to book!) and even the florist was like, 'you have plenttyyy of time!' lol but honestly its a bonus in many ways b/c you rly have your choice and vendors know this so they try and sweeten the deal - plus, why not lock in good price ![]()

Gosh! If you're all early, then I shouldn't even be looking. I just got engaged and we are planning to get married in 2013 so we can save money. What am I supposed to do for the next year??![]()

I do not think it is too early, Yes I agree that if you want to work with is a smaler company that has not been around for a long time I would hold off.
One of the things I have been doing is leaving smaller deposits. Even if you add a time that you have to give money before the last payment. This way even if you do have a problem or change your mind you are not loosing a lot of money!

Early? No way! I have quotes for 2011 prices. My RH apparently went up a little after I booked. It's never too early to start pricing everything out and taking the time to plan it all out. 8 months and I've only booked the RH, but at least I have an idea of what I want.

Look around! Go to showcases and just think about what you want. When you are ready, you'll make your decisions.

We're hoping to book our RH within the next 2 weeks, still have 3 more places to go next weekend. Already met with priest at church and he said they're open for most of May (when we want to get married).
Once RH and church are booked, everything else will follow I suppose.

I have booked my RH and church. Photographer will be next followed by florist and DJ. Hoping to get those checks completed by early fall.

I started booking in February for September 2012 and some of my vendors already had dates booked that month, so I def. didn't get any of those responses.

not at all...I'm a month before you and I have my main vendors booked already!!! Some of them have bookings for 2013 already, better to be safe than sorry!
