I'm getting married in April of 2013 and would like to start the dress hunt this April.
Can you suggest places to go? (or not to go )

I don't know where you live or how far you want to travel, but I got my dress and my girls dresses from Lillette's in Bellmore and they were/are SO helpful and nice!!

I went to Charisol Bridal in Bayside and they were awesome! Definately speak to Tiffany!

I bought my dress from Helen's Private Collection in Commack and have nothing but great things to say about them. The staff was very polite and very helpful!

I bought my dress at village bridal in west babylon...they have a big selection and great prices...but i also had a great experience at bridal suite of bay shore..they have a decent selection too just a little pricier, at least for me

Valentina Bridal - New Utrecht Avenue -everyone was super sweet, great prices and free alterations, you just have to pay for the bustle
The White Gown - Jay Street in DUMBO - LOVED this store!! so close to getting my dress there too
Macy's Bridal Salon by Demetrios - 34th Street ask for Angela, shes a sweetheart
Pronovias - i have NOTHING good to say about this store...worst Experience there
Kleinfeld's - i'm a kleinfelds bride :) total shock to me! i thought i was just going for the whole next york experience and walked out with a dress.
go to as many stores and you can and try on everything! even if its just for sh!ts and giggles :) just have fun with it! Good luck!!!

i still haven't found my dress yet! im on the hunt for it.. BUT i've had a great experience looking for a dress at both Bridal Suite of Centereach on middle country road and Village Bridal in Babylon. Amazing customer service and they are really willing to help me find my dress. Will be going back to both places to try on more dresses. They both have a big selection, i'm just having a hard time choosing which style i like best. also, I've heard good things about Paradise bridal which is in patchouge i believe. Although, I havn't went there myself so i cant say firsthand. Good Luck! and have fun :)

I am not sure where you're located but try Angel Bridal in East Islip. Ask for Vicki or Rosemary. They're super sweet and completely accommodating.
