Why are they so expensive? And do you know of somewhere I can get them for less money?

They really dont have any good prices when it comes to phones. I already checked their website. They are competing with everyone else by charging like amounts. I already tried overstock.com and amazing enough they have the same prices....

Yeah but Costco sells the 'kits'. They may charge the same... but the kits give you addidional phones and chargers that work on the same system.

I dunno... I was in there and I thought they weren't that expensive. Just get a regular $20 900mhz phone... you probably won't notice too much of a difference.

Yeah well I live in a basement...I think i will need at least a 2.4...I may get crappy reception with something lower.

Why not just use the old fashion corded phones then. They actually still work in the event of a blackout.

I think the whole 2.4Ghz thing is overrated. Consumer Reports rated cordless phones and I believe the best phone they picked out was a cheap $30 phone. I think it was made by GE.

But if you are insistent on a 2.4Ghz... then I would check Costco. They have shrinkwrapped kits in the store that aren't necessarily shown on the website.

What about ebay?

I just bought with a 5.8. (too much interference with a 2.4)
You may want to check for a manufacturers refurb on Ebay. My husband did that for his NYC showroom and LI office. He said he's had no problems with them.
