26 more days, and maybe it will end?
There's always something that I find out later. I felt I had a very good weekend with MINOR setbacks (things are not always perfect, right?). But I really didn't think these were issues to hold grudges over and I spoke to all the people involved and thought were all at an understanding when everyone left my shower yesterday. Apparently not.
There was a screw up, and my cousin was not sent a shower invite, therefore, she thought she was never invited. I thought my mom sent the invite to my aunt and her, addressed in the same envelope like I did for the wedding invite because my cousin has moved around.
FMIL screwed that up, and my mom and I are being blamed for that. My dad called me and talked to me about it a little while ago, and said that my mother should have had more control over the invites and not FMIL, that the shower was my family's thing and she needs to back down a little bit (well, now they know what I was talking about). My grandmother was upset and so were my Aunts.
I talked to FH about it. The invites should have been done by my mother, and if FMIL was doing them, she should have at least gone over the envelopes before sending them out. Or, my mom should have addressed her own side, and FMIL addressed hers.
But my Aunt should have said something. My mom and I have no problem questioning things and we are NOT AT ALL offended when people ask us; it clarifies things. I just wish they'd let it go. The funny thing is, my cousin is not mad at all and understands it's a mix up. But my parents both feel like my FMIL trampled on there thing and look what it did.
And everyone's crying to me because??? because I had to get married? Jesus.
