Is $275 too much for my bridesmaids to pay for their dresses? I feel kind of guilty for choosing the dresses that I did but I love them.

Re: $275
Its more than I hope to have mine spend, especially since they have to get them altered also. Maybe ask them if they can afford it.

I think it is way to much - My BM would kill me - I am trying to keep mind no more than $175 - remember they will need to pay for alterations on top of it
But talk to your BM and see how they feel if you really like them maybe you can pay for some of it

I defitnetly think you should ask your bridal party how much they are willing to spend. Also if you have been in any of their weddings it is good to look at how much you have spent. Burtons bridals also can get dresses for less so it might be good to see if you can get it somewhere else cheaper. I had to spend almost 400 for a dress for my MOH. It is not a dress I can wear again so I was not to overly happy about it. If the girls think they can get multiple uses out of it than maybe it is worth it.

I think that is a bit too much. I am trying to keep mine $200 or below because I don't want to place that financial burden on my friends. There are some that I LOVE that are around $300 but I can't do that to them. If you really love the dresses and it's in your budget, maybe you can put $50 or so towards each dress.

I think so
I was happy that the dresses we picked were $130 with tax and everything they came out to about $150

Re: $275
heck yes. although its all relative so if your BMs are millionaires maybe they dont care. but you probably would nt be asking if that was the case. lol
We are doing David's bridal and its going to be around &150 bucks...

Re: $275
It really depends. I think everyone's situation is different. I talked to all of my BM's about how much they would be comfortable spending and just went from there. Also, the sooner you order them, the more time they have to save up or finish paying for it. I am setting my price point at 160 dollars. Honestly, I doubt any of my girls will wear the dress again so I don't want to make them spend to much for a one time only dress on top of other expenses. JMO though. You have to do what works for you. Good Luck!

i think it depends on your bm's situation, run it by them and see how they feel about it

Re: $275
I think that it is to much especially during these economic times. Also, your BM's will have so many other costs for your wedding. Try giving them different dress options with the prices, who knows they may all agree to fork up the extra money for the dress you love.

I'm trying to keep mine in the $150-200 range, would like for my girls to not have to go over $250 after alterations.
By the time you include alterations, you're talking about over $300 just for the dress alone. I think as a BM I'd be a little hesitant to pay that.

Def a bit much. Keep in mind they have to get their hair, make-up, shoes, alterations, transportation there and all the other extras that go with being a BM. Anyway you can get a similar dress at a better price?

Re: $275
I personally wouldn't ask my BMs to spend that much. However, you know your girls better than any of us. If you think they would have absolutely no problem with the cost, then go for it. But if there's a doubt in your mind...I wouldn't.

Re: $275
It depends... all the BM dresses I like are $300 and up and it stinks because 5 of the girls are sisters (3 girls my side, 2 girls fh) and i don't want to put the burden on their parents in case they choose to pay for them (which i believe they will since 4 of the girls are under 21 and still in college)

i think thats a lil expensive.. especially with alterations added on top of that.
first ask them.. if they say its too much then try and plan a day with all your maids, or maybe just your MOH to look at dresses.
