This weekend FI and I are going to his dad's wedding. This will be a second marriage for the both of them. Do we have to get them anything? They are both well off, and we are trying to pay for our own wedding in less then 3 months. What do we do?

Re: 2nd marriage wedding gift
I would definately get them something...Buy them a gift that you know they would love...maybe a gift certificate for a couples massage or if they are going on a honeymoon, a gift certificate for a meal or a spa in their hotel.

Well the thing is FI isn't too happy about the marriage, his mom died 4 years ago, and to see his dad with another woman, really bothers him.

hmmmm I understand that. You can tell fh what my Mom always tells me. If someone has a happy loving marriage and their spouse passes away they will find love again because they know how to love. Does he not like the woman? Is there something wrong with her?

What about getting them a cake topper or the knife cutting set for their reception, or toasting flutes. Or maybe a gift certificate to a night out with dinner and a broadway show.
