My FH is divorced and wants to know if he needs some sort of proof when we go to get married?

Yes, you need to have the certified copy of your divorce decree. You basically have to prove that you aren't married anymore. :)

Are you getting married in church? If you are you have to have the marriage annulled.

We're not getting married in a Catholic church or anything. What if we just want a minister or something non-catholic?

Then you just need the certified divorce decree.

DH was married previously, we had a civil ceremony at our RH. When we applied for our marriage license he had to show his divorce papers proving that he was no longer married. Your FH can ask for a copy from the courthouse where his divorce was filed.
