2nd QOTD: If you could win a gold in 1 Olympic event, what would it be?
I always wanted to be a gymnast but my second choice was swimming. To be a gymnast, I could deal with being short (I already am), but I don't know if I'd want to be flat chested. Gold medal or boobs, gold medal or boobs--such decisions
ETA: My sometimes better half said he'd like to be a cyclist. At least he's resilient--the last bike race he went on, he crashed into a tree and cracked his helmet!

I would bypass the summer olympics altogether ...
I would want to be a pairs figure skater in the winter olympics ... I love the way the couples look together. Alas, this will never be, since I cannot even STAND on skates without falling, let alone do what they do!

Figure Skating....I used to skate competitvely until I tore my ACL in 1986, while preparing for the National Trials

I love diving(springboard and platform). I was actually a pretty good amateur, but never pursued it with any gusto.
In the Winter Olympics it would be a tie between downhill skier and figure skater.

I love the gymnastics...I wish I could do flips and stuff like those girls...they make it look so easy. Then I try to do a cartwheel and WOW, I am not a kid anymore.

I would have to say figure skating, though I would love to try luge or that other one, I think it's called skeleton.

Definitely gymnastics. I did it from the time I was 4 till I was 18 and loved every minute of it. Of course my dream was to one day be in the olympics but I broke my ankle 3 times in 2 years (I didn't let it heal and kept tumbling) and after 2 surgeries to fix that and a slight tear in my achilles tendon I was told my dream would never become a reality Oh well, I still had a great time all those years and about the flat chest thing, its not necessarily true, I am a double D and although as they grew it got harder to do certain things I learned to manage.

Gymnastics ... I was obsessed as a child. I did gymnastics from 7 until 14 ... then it just got too painful for my back. Ohhh, but how I loved to TUMBLE!

gymnastics! i'm the perfect height for it, only 4'10' and used to do it as a kid. unfortunately my parents couldn't afford to pay for lessons when i was in middle school so i had to quit.
honestly though i'd do just about any sport if it gave me a chance to go to the olympics. my biggest dream in life is to go to an olympic games. it could still happen i guess, there are some old people competing in archery and equestrian!

I'd love to be a figure skater - I'm always amazed by how they twirl and jump on the ice. Honestly though, I'm totally unathletic, so I'd be happy to have an iota of the talent of any athlete in any sport!

Volleyball! without a doubt.
Then maybe High board diving - I used to be on a diving team as a child but had an accident in the pool and sorta stopped breathing and my heart stopped. They got me back with CPR. Since then I have not dived even off the side of the pool into water! But I remember the feeling (odd eh?) and it was so great!

Dressage... I have been riding for years and this is one area that i would never attempt...well i attempted but realized how hard it really is... So i admire those who can do it
