2nd time bride

Hi, any suggestions for what to wear for a very low key sunday afternoon brunch for a second time bride, who is over 40? i went to a bridal shop yesterday, the dresses are way too poofy for me, too dressy and way too expensive ! the wedding is in june any suggestions?

Try bridesmaid's dresses or mother of the bride dresses. They often come in white or ivory.I don't knwo how traditional you want to go.
I think ivory would be good, but you could wear a clolor or you could wear an ivory pants suit.

Also, try lookign for wedding dresses lines that have 'informals' like Jordan & Eden.

Hi Leslie! Welcome to the boards! I am glad you joined us here!

I was thinking about this. Try looking at www.bridesave.com. Maybe they have something more low key.

Hi, i jsut saw your 2nd post- Eden Bridals is a company that makes wedigndresses & Jordan Fashions mostly makes bridesmaid dresses, but they have some of them in white as informal wedding gowns.

You can look at there websites & they ususly lists stores that carry them.

You could also try the Jessica McClintock store in Roosevelt Feild.

Here are some ideas:
The first is Jessica McClintock, the second is Eden Informals.

I would attempt to buy something ivory off the rack in any formal section of a Loehmann's, Macy's, Bloomies, etc.

Welcome! also, you can try to look an the vendor sites & see when they have trunk shows.

Alsso check out Bride Couture
They have spectacular prices and quite a few dresses for non-traditional styles.

You do have to look through al the designers, but it is worth the wait!

Jessica McClintock has simple dresses. Try bridesmaid dress or go to a evening dress store and see what they have

I saw the moonlight couture website (they have a shop in Merrick) and they have really lovely informals, no poof but a lot of style.
