3 1/2 rooms?

3 1/2 rooms?

if an apartment is advertised as 3 1/2 rooms, what could that mean? I know that it is a 1 bedroom apt, but I'm not clear how you'd have 3 1/2 rooms...

usually it means a bedroom, living room, kitchen and a bathroom.

I thought that kitchens and bathrooms weren't counted in the number of rooms?

I always thought the '1/2' was a room without a window ... I don't think bathrooms count ...

well our place is a 4 1/2 and it is 2 bedrooms, kitchen living room and bathroom so i guess i assumed that's what it meant..if i'm wrong we all know what they say about assume..

our bathroom has a window too..

i have an eat in kitchen and a large living room but its not a separate eating area..i'll see if my prospectus explains the 4 1/2

okay i checked it says the 4 1/2 rooms were calculated by..kitchen and dining area as 1 1/2 and living room and bedrooms as 3..there's your answer..bathrooms don't count..

We went to go see a 3 1/2 room place and there was the kitchen, living room and a VERY SMALL bedroom. You could barely fit a bed in there and it didn't have a normal door. It was more like some closet door that opened into it. Usually not a big place.

Danielle and my apartment is 5 1/2 rooms I guess then...
Eat in Kitchen
Living room/Dining room combo
Bedroom
Bathroom
Storage room
Laundry room
Not bad for a basement
