3 Dumb Questions

1)Okay, I am not sure how they do wedding's here in NY...but as for the Toasting Champagne flutes....is it a must that we have to buy them? Or did some of you used the Hall's flutes?

2)Same Question for the Cake Server?

3) Also, following the Cocktail hour when the band or DJ first announce the the Couple .....is that the time that they also introduce the Bridal Party?

Thanks gals for your thoughts and feedback.

Re: 3 Dumb Questions

1. I had about 4 different people buy me Flutes and my MIL also wanted to be me 'our set' but my MOH already bought us Lismore by Waterford so she didn't. But I know for some people it doesn't matter. For us we wanted our own. We have flutes from a few of Dh's military banquets from when we were dating so we liked the idea of having wedding ones.

2.Cake set, for us it wasen't a big deal. But we used Dh's Saber to cut it due to the theme of the wedding, but we probably would have used the halls or looked for something inexpensive that would look nice in pics

3. After the cocktail hour the DJ introduced my parents, my inlaws, Bm's excorted by Gm's and then my husband and I.

I don't think you HAVE to do anything as far as #1 and #2 go- call your hall to make sure they have a 'house' cake knife and cutter.

As far as #3, yes, that's when they did it at all of the weddings I've been to- and introduced your parents and (possibly if you wanted) grandparents.

Re: 3 Dumb Questions

1 - you do not need to buy special toasting glasses. If you get glasses as a shower gift, use them. Its supposed to bring luck anyway to use the set that you have.

2 - you can tell the hall that you do not have cake servers and they will provide them. I was lucky, I borrowed my sisters but its no big deal!!

3 - Usually what the DJ will do is to announce the parents, then the bridal party then the bride a groom!

Hope that helps!!

Re: 3 Dumb Questions

not dumb questions at all....

1. You can use your own toasting flutes if you like, someone might buy cute ones for your shower, or you can use those that you may or may not have registered for (if we get the ones we registered for, we'll use those, if not...I think I might borrow someones....I don't want to buy something I'll use once)

2. same for the cake cutter...you may receive as a gift or buy yourself.....Again, if I don't get as a gift....I'm borrowing...no one sees it

3. At the beginning of the reception...parents are introduced, BP introduced, and then the big shabang...the bride and groom.

Re: 3 Dumb Questions

Thank you so much!! As for the Champagne Flutes, I will probably just borrow the Halls B/c I don't see my self going out and buying something else. As for the Cake Server set, my director just bought me a set yesterday! It's beautiful. So I will probably use hers. Although I've seen cake cutters that are more wedding looking. We'll see. Thanks again!

Those aren't dumb questions!!

1 - You do NOT have to buy your own toasting flutes. Alot of people do purchase their own as a keepsake but it is not required. I'm sure the site won't leave you empty-handed when it's time to toast

2 - Same goes for the cake server

3 - Usually the BP is announced first then you and DH are announced as husband and wife.
