3 months to go....

3 months to go....

Start planing the ceremony. Since I do not know what kind of ceremony you are having (Catholic, Jewish, non-denominational, etc.),I cannot give you the specifics. The generic type of things are what music will be played, programs (optional) and picking the readings if there will be any. You might want to make a list of all pictures you want to give the photographer as a "must have" list. Go for an engagement photo as a trial for the wedding. Make a "do" and "don't" play list for the dj or band. Also, pick the songs for the different dances and special events (cake cutting, father/daughter dance). Make sure you have undergarments and shoes to take with you to the first fitting. If you have out of towners, a gift bag for each room is a nice gesture. They can be cheaply, yet nicely made. If you are having a rehearsal dinner, decide on a place a make and invitee list. If you are making the favors you can get them done now. If you are having a video, pick the songs you want for the different parts and pick out photos for the montage. I will try to list a few more when my brain is less cluttered later on today. I am getting married in 12 days and am glad I got most of the little things out of the way early. There is enough to do during the last 2-3 weeks that cannot be done earlier.

I almost forgot. Get hair, nail and makeup appts. now before your favorite place is booked. Try to get trials on hair w/veil and makeup. Start making a list of who will handle what on the wedding day. Schedule non-wedding things with you fiance so you do not lose track of why you are marrying. Maybe go for a massage together about a week before to relieve possible stress.

I have to say Leighann that number 10 on your list should be the most important. This should be a fun and exciting time in ours lives but I know myself that I get all crazy when it comes to planning!!

Have fun!! :)

Three months was my breakdown period. My advice about what to do: Nothing. Just relax and enjoy the downtime since you seem to have so many things under control. :)

Hi, I got my dress at MR also. Here is my take on things. My dress was under $3000 (so they do have dresses undre that, but not many) but alterations are pretty hefty, $295 for alterations & $75 for the bustle. I'm petit, so when I went to get measured, they told me that they would have to custom order the dress, and that ended up being an extra $250. I didn't buy a headpiece there because I found them too expensive. The same goes for the veils. I lucked out, doing a little legwork I found a place on 38th, Paul's Veils. I ordered the same exact veil style that I saw at MR for 1/3 less. (Turns out that they make the veils for Michelle Roth). They're making my veil and matching the edge to a swatch I left with them.
