Thank you again Ashley for making me BOTW!!! I won't always post it this early, but I couldn't wait to start
<3 QOTD <3 Are your visions for your wedding day anything like how you pictured it when you were a little girl (or even a high schooler)? (don't forget to include your groom in that vision!) <3
I was never that girl who dreamt about my wedding my whole life. I didn't have visions til FH and I started to seriously talk future. even the dress- I just kinda assumed beaded bodice with full ball gown bc that's what I typically saw in movies or family weddings. So the hall and vendors are meeting my vision expectations bc they are new! My dress wound up being everything I said I DIDN'T want in a gown (lace, halter champagne colored!) As for FH, I've always been drawn to the bad boys! Tattoos, piercings (nothing crazy-ears), shaved head, scars- I looooooove eyebrow scars! And i always knew i could NEVER see myself coming home to a man in a suit. Well, FH is FDNY, so I got my dirt-under-the-nails worker, but he's dark haired, clean shaven, chubby, no tats or piercings..not even good facial scars! Aaaaaannnnnd personality wise, I'm marrying a version of my father! Geez Louise! soooo not what I ever thought, but goes to show that not everything in life goes the way you plan and there's a reason for it

Awesome first question!!
Okay, so like you, I was never one to daydream about my future wedding growing up. So all of this planning now is so crazy for me! I guess I figured I'd have something like you saw in the movies as well, a huge princess dress and what not... but now that I'm actually planning, the image of my wedding is more on a smaller scale. The first thing I said to me fiance' was that I wanted a small wedding... nothing absurd.
Fiance'-wise.... funny enough, I see A LOT of my father in my fiance' as well, it's kinda scary sometimes... hahaha! I was for some reason always attracted to musicians and in my experience they were always self-absorbed and didn't quite make the best boyfriends. Oh, and they always had dark hair. My fiance' is attentive, thoughtful and funny and just an all around good guy and someone I truly HOPED to find one day. And he's a blondie haha... I couldn't have asked for a better future husband!
I feel like I pretty much just reiterated your answer.... hahaha

I used to dream about my wedding day as a little girl and I was always wearing a nice big ballgown. Never used to really care about the other details, just the dress. My FH was always some actor I had a crush on. Now I have an A-line dress. My FH is the most caring, wonderful man in the world and he's better than any actor I could have envisioned. And now I love to think about all the little details.

Good question ... Well I was never one to think about until all my friends were getting married lol then I just started to picture everything that I wanted in my wedding and I def. wanted an Irish theme too ... My dress The funny part about that was I wanted an Aline well yea that didn't happened at all the one dress that I said I would never wear a mermaid dress ended up being my dress and I love it ... Just too funny but me and my FH are so much alike it's not even funny and I know him for now 9 years and I also said that I like him and things r funny how they all work out but I'm so happy that we started to hangout and it bloomed from there and the funny part he looks like my mom father when he was younger too ... So weird

My dream was always on an exotic island on the beach. However, I would lose a lot of my guestlist this way which is why we arent doing it. My parents, inlaws and close friends were all ok with this, but my cousins who I wanted there I knew couldnt afford it. Im extremely happy with how the wedding is turning out now, and dont regret a thing. Ill just honeymoon to an island!

Aww Kristy! Great Question!!!!!
I think my vision for my wedding is part what I pictured when I was little and part what I envisioned when me & FH started discussing the future. As much as I tried to deny it, I could no longer see myself getting married anyplace other than a church, I always saw that for myself as a little girl. I never pictured an outdoor cocktail hour though..or having 200+ guests.. or the latino flair we'll have. Either way, I know it'll be perfect!!!
I never really though about it until you mentioned it but FH is A LOT like my father.. Personality wise he is exactly what I pictured for a husband.. He knows exactly how to keep me laughing after a hard day and balances out my serious side. I love him!

I never dreamed of my wedding when I was younger or even when I got older. After dating losers I actually never thought I would get married. Id always say 'if I ever' or that I was going to be an old cat lady lol. Of course this all changed when FH came along. After we got engaged the vision for our wedding has come together piece by piece.
As far as FH, physically he has the dark hair and eyes and tanned skin that I love. But usually I went for tall husky/chubby guys and FH is only about 1-2 inches taller than me and more on the average side. Personality wise he and I compliment each other really well. We are a lot alike in certain ways. I love his big heart and how caring and good he is with his mom and daughter. That alone tells me he will be a wonderful husband and father to our future kiddies. He makes me laugh and I am 100% comfortable around him and we love being in each others company. We were just joking this wknd that we are obsessed with ea other (in a good way of course). All these qualities is exactly what I wanted in a husband.

Congrats on being the new BOTW!
I remember picturing my wedding and husband at a young age, but I don’t recall any details. I remember that I wanted to find my “true love” and be married.
FH is definitely my type. He’s tall, dark hair, handsome, clean cut, white collar. He makes me laugh and is such a sweetheart. I picked a good one!
If I could remember any details from being young, I know that my reality is so much better than I could have ever imagined!

I was the little girl that dreamed of her wedding--my mom still has a picture that I drew in kindergarten--the assignment was to draw what you wanted to be when you grew up.. I drew a woman and a baby.. my mom recollects the story and tells me that when I was asked what I wanted to be according the picture--I told my teacher & her 'a mom'.
In the original picture there was no husband. Later.. I realized that I wanted someone that was accepting of my independence. Someone who would realize that I would never 'NEED' them but that I would want them to be there for me. I guess tall dark and handsome is the way that I could best describe what I always wanted for myself.
Who knew--I found my Italian fiancé who has olive skin, brown eyes, is six foot two and is more than anything I could ever imagine. It never ceases to amaze me how a personality can cause someone to become so much more attractive. He never stops making me laugh--he is understanding of all of my OCD behaviors.. and he understands when he needs to flip the switch from funny to serious.
As far as my wedding goes.. I always wanted a beach wedding with lots of bright colors like the sunset--pinks oranges and yellows-- but since Long Island weather is so unpredictable and I truly couldn't afford any of the venues that are beachfront-- I changed my vision to something more elegant and classic which is totally fine with me. The day that I get married is so important because its to my FH..the details are important to me but I am extremely okay with everything not being perfect because lets face it..life isn't perfect. You have to find someone that can turn your cloudy day around & make your days filled with sunshine a million times better because that person exists and then go through this adventure together!
Thanks for the question--you really made me smile from ear to ear thinking about it !

I was never one to dream about how my wedding would be, didn't really start thinking about it till I started dating FH. And let me tell you everything is so different then how I pictured it. I always thought I would have a small wedding with about 80 or so people at a nice restaurant or something...can I tell you my guest list is at about 260!!! But I'm so excited at how things are turning out and I can hardly wait for my wedding!!!

Good question! I never really thought about this day either... but when I did think that maybe I'd get married, I knew I wanted a lace dress (maybe because my mom had one) and I got that! I never even really thought about all the other stuff, but I am getting the things I really love... an old house, beautiful grounds, just a beautiful day overall. Oh I always thought I'd get married in a church, but that is not happening for various reasons! Sometimes I think about that and if I'd really want that but I'm happiest getting married outside (I hope) with a spiritual but non religion specific ceremony. That's the only thing that's different!

Forgot my groom... haha well he's definitely my type physically and he makes laugh and laugh which is super important. I actually was never really sure I would get married, but he is the opposite of all the things I was worried about and I couldn't be happier He is kind, funny, and I've never heard him be mean to a single person... and he gives me the best surprises and gifts including our whole engagement weekend, it was amaaazing!

Great first question. After the day and night I am having I need to answer this.
I visioned myself getting married just the way it's happening. The amazing proposal, my amazing fiancé, everything could have workked out better. I always said I didn't want a wedding aft my brother got married because I said all that money can buy me house. And everyone would tell me, no way your gonna want that special day where you have all the attention on you. Where you get the chance to have all eyes on you but you will only be looking at him. Once we got engaged. That was it wedding planning started and kicked in full force.
Now all my plans and visions are coming along. After booking my castle for my wedding and booking my florist and have him put my ideas and visions come to life I said everything is falling In place. My DJ and photographer are amazing and I booked them the next week so I know I have my guys on my day to make it more amazing. Booking the limos made me glow. Just wondering about how everything Is going to turn out is so much anticipation. It will be here before I know it. I know that everything we are working hard for will turn out to the best day of our lives. And I cannot wait to marry my love of my life.
Now about the fiancé lol. He is amazing. Warm, kind, funny, passionate. He was the missing piece to my puzzle. And I couldn't ask for more

I really knew nothing of what I wanted my wedding to be like when I was little. I did know I wanted it be my whole family since I barley ever see a lot of them since my family huge. Well I am getting my huge 225 person wedding lol. I use to always date safe people. My mom use to tell me I dated people who like me more then I like them. FH is everything I could ever want in a husband. The best risk I ever took.

Good first question, Kristy!
My wedding vision has changed. When I was a young girl, I pictured a princess themed wedding. Like Kristy, I wanted a ballgown with a glitzy bodice. I wanted to be brought to church in a horse and carriage and have the reception in a castle. Now I am aiming for a glamorous (possible Hollywood)themed wedding and want a fit and flare gown.
My FH is the type of man I pictured myself marrying. He is hardworking, funny, sweet, loves sports, and shares the same values with me. The only thing I didn't picture were the tattoos. Fh has one on each arm.

The first time I remember imagining getting married was when I was 6, and it was when I first saw Derek Jeter on the Yankees HAHA he had just got sent up to the MLB. I was a bride that Halloween in Kindergarten and still have a slight obsession with him but I'm getting over it now that I have my wonderful fiancé. He doesn't look quite like DJ but he is tall and handsome and makes me happy and feel loved and thats what counts :)
Growing up I always pictured the big fairy tale castle wedding with a Cinderella ball gown and a horse and carriage. Then for years I never really thought about it until we would talk about getting engaged and married. When it became real and we first started planning I wanted a vintage 1920's feel to my wedding and so I wanted an old mansion and all old world glamour and charm. The whole Golden-Era theme wasn't working because I couldn't find a mansion that I loved that I could afford so I told myself to try and get any idea's that I want out of my head and just find the place that makes me feel happy and then go from there. Now I finally found the place that I want, The Sandcastle, which has some castle inspired decor in the ball room and the place does make me feel like a princess. I'm going to look at dresses soon and I will be starting with trying on ball gowns. I think my childhood fairy tale wedding might be making its way back into the picture after all! lol

Congrats kristy!!!
I love this question! I remember being 5 and planning my wedding w the jc penny bridal catalog when it came in the mail. I would pick out the colors gowns and extras. I always had a cinderella gown on and my daddy rode w me in a horse and carriage.
As I grew up I dated losers for lack of a better word. I lost my hope for marriage and settled into being a mother, and working hard at setting a good example for her.
Enter FH... This is the guy who was honest w me from day one. He waited to kiss me for 3 months and always treated me w respect. We took things slow and I never looked back. He is an amazing person. Warm hearted supportive and truly my best friend. He calls me out on my ******** and praises me for my successes. He has also been an amazing father to my daughter and even tucks her in and says i love you. He is more then anything I could of asked for and am so thankful to have him in my life.
He is all the good qualities my father has but even more then I ever could of expected. I might not look like Cinderella but I certainly ended up w my prince.

Ur welcome & awesome 1st question!!!
I too was never one of those girls who dreamt about her wedding and only started even thinking about it when FH and I started talking about getting married. So far the only thing that has been what I dreamed of was to be having a big wedding. I thought I knew who I wanted as my vendors and so far I have only used one of the ones I originally thought of. I knew where I wanted to have the wedding and the colors of the wedding and all that changed once I saw Crest Hollow. As for FH, I always used to go for the guys that were total jerks! I knew that I wanted to meet a man who was like my stepfather. I wasnt sure I would even have a wedding bc I didnt think it was possible to meet someone as amazing as Richie. I'm really excited to be planning our wedding now bc I can see our vision coming together really well!!!
