Before I start I want to say two things: I'm so excited to be BOTW yay! And also i apologize in advance if I post any questions at night since my work schedule is crazy.
Q: how did you decide on your wedding date? Is it a significant date? Did you always know what day you wanted? How did you choose?
My answer is that I wanted something late September early October bc my parents anniversary is beginning of September and FHs parents anniversary is late October. We originally wanted 10/12/14 bc its columbus day weekend and we liked the ring to it, but it was taken so we just went with 10/11/14.
Happy Monday everyone!

Summer is the only time i'd ever even think of getting married. We went to our RH and there were THREE dates left and only one was in JULY. I love JULY, it's my birthday month and i I just love it for some reason! LOL Then when i looked at the date 7-11-14, i immediately grabbed a pen and wrote: 7(1+1)=14 done!

We wanted summer because I am a guidance counselor and wanted to have off for my honeymoon/last minute planning! I picked the 7.18 because we got engaged on 11.18 so found it special (a 20 month engagement exactly) and we decided on a friday for the money factor!! lol

I just new I wanted a Friday night in the summer. I preferably wanted June or July or at worst Early August. There was no date that popped out at us. I just new I wanted to be home from our honeymoon before opening weekend of football When we decided on WM they had 6/20 and 6/27 (we never asked for later dates because we figured the sooner the better). FH said lets do 6/20/14 because its a 'clean, round number'
So no cute story it Just happened lol!

The date doesn't have significance, in fact I wanted to get married this november (11.16) that is our anniversary and it is a saturday but FH did not want this date. FH really wanted a summer wedding so when we decided on our venue I wanted september but they offered us a deal for 8.31 (the day before labor day) and it just felt right.

I originally wanted August 2nd because that's my parents anniversary but Fh hates being hot so summer wouldn't work. After we decided on the fall*I never wanted a fall wedding and I'm still not thrilled by the idea) we chose 10/12/14 because most people have the next day off and it's easy for Fh to remember.

We originally wanted 10/12/13 because we both loved the idea of a fall wedding, but since we are paying for the wedding entirely by ourselves we could either afford a bigger winter wedding or a smaller fall wedding. My mom is one of 12 siblings so (unfortunately) a smaller wedding wasn't really an option.
At the time, FH only had weekends off every 3 months, so he absolutely insisted upon doing it on a weekend that his work buddies would have off as well. Of course, almost everyone he talks to ended up being transferred to different units (himself included) so we basically picked our date for no reason

I love the idea of early June since the weather will be warm (avg is low 70s) but not humid yet. Also the days are a lot longer with the sun setting around 8:00pm! We were toying with the idea of a fall wedding but i really prefer the colors in spring. Plus FH likes the way June 7 sounds
We also knew that we definitely wanted a Saturday evening wedding. Since we live in the city, many of our guests will be traveling to the north fork for our wedding. We didn't want them having to take time off of work to go to a Friday wedding or getting home late on a Sunday night.

I preferred warm weather but we were open to any spring/summer/early fall day. When we went to the first hall the Manager mentioned 4th of July, and that's it. It got stuck in FH's head (it is his favorite holiday). Once we figured out it was financially doable it was settled and a July 4th wedding it shall be! And hey we have a big BBQ every year anyway so now it gets to be a big family wide anniversary party lol

We wanted a winter wedding b/c it was significantly cheaper than any other time of year. Also, we didn't want a very long engagement so we basically planned the wedding in a year.

We wanted April figuring it was off season for some halls. When we went to the Fox Hollow we absolutely fell in LOVE with the place. However, they said that's when they start their season so getting married in March was $20 cheaper than April. So it was either late April or Mid March for less....so March it is!

We wanted a winter wedding but didn't want something on top of the holidays. January seemed like the perfect time. We chose the 18th because the weekend before (11th) was too close to 1/10 which is my brothers birthday and my cousins wedding anniversary, we didn't want the weekend following NYE and the 25th didn't stand out to us. The 18th we thought would be perfect because it is Martin Luther King weekend so our OOT guests could have extra time to commute and not be burnt out.
We really liked the idea of getting married on 12.13.14 since its consecutive and it'll be the last time someone can have the consecutive date like that for a while :)
We actually settled on our date before we were even engaged. Also... we started dating on the 13th (of October) so it just seemed fitting. It especially had to be our date since he incorporated 12.13.14 into his proposal :)

I really wanted a fall wedding but we fell in love with our venue and the price wasn't quite right for autumn months. They offered us a great winter deal, so we decided to go with it. We didn't want it too close to the holidays but we knew the end of January was no good because the Super Bowl will be in NJ... so we decided on 01/18/2014~!

There really is no significance to our wedding date. We knew we wanted to get married during the warmer months so we came up with a few dates from April to June. Then when we went to see our venue, our BM told us that they have the prettiest flowers in June so we chose the first Saturday of June.

no significance really- We initally wanted September 2014, but I will be graduating with my MS in education and didn't want to be interviewing and have to tell them 'oh and I am going to need x days for the wedding and x days for the honeymoon' so I figured having a May wedding would be better since I'll have the whole summer to interview for Fall teaching jobs. Since we were thinking Spring, my FH thought the sunday of memorial weekend we be a good idea so that we can have the long weekend to spend extra time with OOT friends/family, and also wanted our cousins who are in college to be able to come to the wedding. If it ended up being September, alot of younger cousins wouldn't fly/drive to NY from college, so May was overall a better choice :)
