Well girls, my week chosen to be BOTW is a big week for me not only because of my new baby niece but because today is mine and FHs 3 year anniversary! So, my question is related to my day, and its a two part question!
Q: 1. are there any traditions or repetitive things you have developed in your relationship with FH that has turned into a tradition? Anything you do on every anniversary? Or once a month you ____? Or every time you go to a specific place you do something only with him? 2. Do you and FH exchange gifts in your anniversary? After the wedding will you still acknowledge your 'old' anniversary or just your wedding anniversary?
1. Somehow I started some 'traditions' in our relationship. For our first anniversary I gave him a printed photo book with our photos from the entire year.. Big events or day trips or just really nice photos.. And labeled it 'volume one, 5/3/10-5/3/11'.. And the next year he got 'volume two' and today he will get 'volume three'. It's a cute thing I do because at first it was a surprise, now he knows every time I whip out a camera it's because I'm taking pictures for our book. It's become really important to me because we will be able to look back in ten or twenty years and know exactly what took place each year.. And I can't wait until there are so many individual books that they need their own shelf (or three)!
2. We always exchange gifts, whether they're small or big. Usually they're a surprise and thoughtful gift but this year we told each other what we wanted bc there was too much going on lol! After the wedding I plan on slowly making our new anniversary our old anniversary, and I'm sure over the years we will eventually forget to notice when may 3rd rolls around!

1) We have a couple of things we do every year. We go the motorcycle show and the car show at tye javits center every year. And we also go up to lake george every year. Hes been going every year since he was a little kid. Why stop now? Also once a year we buy tickets from his friend who has mets season tickets....usually in june and tailgate before the game.
2) I usually get flowers and we go out for dinner but no we don't exchange gifts. And if we did we wouldn't this year or next year since we are saving for the wedding.

1. Nope
2. We don't exchange gifts, and after we get married, we will have a new anniversary and it will replace the old one. :D The dates are only 2 weeks apart anyway.

Every year FH & I go to Tampa for Yankees Spring Training & a hockey game. (Though we didn't go this year because of the wedding). Also every sunday I cook and we watch football with friends all day. I feel like we do more 'traditional' things because I am so into tradition but can't think right now. I have to come back to this one lol
FH and I dont exchange gifts for our anniversary. In the beginning we did but now we just give nice cards and go out for a nice meal (The reason we really don't exchange gifts is because we have valentine's day, his birthday, and our anniversary within a month. it just got too expensive) I don't think we will continue to celebrate our dating anniversary once we are married. I think it will be more like 'Oh its march 13th!'

Or every time you go to a specific place you do something only with him? For my bday every year we go into the city. I'm December 17, so we always go in to see the tree, see a play, and go out to dinner. This year we might go to Bryant Park for some ice skating :)

I'm not a big anniversary person unless it's a wedding anniversary so we never did anything for it, nor do we remember the date lol- wedding anniversaries will be different though. We are gonna eat at the Milleridge Inn restaurant every year for it we decided

1. We haven't been together very long to develop many big traditions yet. Not very romantic but we do ALWAYS food shop together. On the few occasions I have to run quick to get something alone or he has to stop on his way home without me it just feels weird. lol I know so domestic of us. But food shopping is almost like a date for us. We pick out what we will have for dinner that week, he holds my coupons and tries to sneak bad food into the cart, lol its really cute and makes me feel like we are very husband and wife like already.
2. We always try not to exchange big gifts, Last year for our 1 year anniversary we went to Disney, so I didn't think we should buy other big things, then my birthday was right after, then we got engaged then bam Christmas. So I kept saying 'lets not buy anything for each other lets just save our money, or lets just buy something small' Didn't work lol. Well I kept to my word, but FH still bought me big gifts, still spoiled me, and still spent a lot of money! I yell at him because we are supposed to be saving, but still I love it lol.
I have a feeling that after a while being married we probably won't count our dating anniversary, but for now I'm still counting lol

We have a tradition date I guess where we do a dinner and a movie which was our first date. We also try to go on vacation our our anniversary.
We exchange gifts for the big anniversary. I think after we are married we probably will just do a date night and not really exchange gifts unless it is a milestone. Our wedding date is our anniversary :)

Every year we try to do an over night somewhere (usually NYC, get dinner and see a play!!) But last year it was a bit rushed so this year was 10 years and we went to Aruba!!!
I guess the clock re-sets for the wedding date BUT i'll always acknowledge the dating anniversary and the engagement date

We have some traditions that we do around the holidays... we exchange pajamas on Christmas Eve!!
We do exchange small personal gifts on our anniversary. This year will be 4 years!
We are getting married on our anniversary so I guess we will always celebrate our 'old' anniversary we will just start the count again!

1. I wouldn't say they are traditions per say but rather just things we do. Each anniversary, we like to do dinner and exchange gifts. We also spend the holidays with our families but make a point to spend Christmas day just him & I. We go to church every week together, we go food shopping together, we often have date nights, we watch our shows together (we do everything together haha) but we live together so our 'traditional' things to me are just aspects of our relationship and part of our routine.
2. FH & I always exchange gifts. He is a huge gift giver and always is finding a way to add more gifts to the repertoire. ( I can't say that I mind) After our wedding we will probably just acknowledge and celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Every year on our Anniversary (which is also Valentines Day), we go to the same restaurant in the city.
We do give gifts but mostly because he wants to! He tends to go a little overboard on the gift giving! We'll still acknowledge our anniversary every year but probably b/c its valentines day. I would love for us to start going to the restaurant at our RH every summer for our wedding anniversary!

We have a few traditions in our relationship but the one that stands out the most is playing hookie from work sometime in late June before the schools let out and going to Splish Splash together. We had the BEST time last year that we decided we needed to do it every year from now on. It was completely empty and it was during the heat wave so it was so refreshing. Plus, being that they had just opened it wasn't disgusting there yet LOL we had the best time.
We don't give each other gifts because we always just save the money and travel instead. I never want/need anything and we would just rather take vacations.
