FYI, I was not dialated or effaced at all even 3 days before Luke was born. I went to the OB on Thu and nothing and he was born on Sunday. So it can move VERY quickly.
Just like your visits to the OB, you now need to give us more frequent updates.

Thanks, ladies!! Elizabeth, for some reason your post just scared the heck outta me!! LOL Maybe it was the words 'move VERY quickly'.
I'm going up to Woodbury Commons tomorrow (w/ DH, of course) to shop/walk - maybe I should pack my hospital bag?!? EEK!!!

I was 3 cm dilated for what seemed like a month before I was due, and nothing happened. So, don't get too worried...1 cm doesn't really mean anything, unless you start feeling contractions. Hang in there...it's so close now!!

it is close, but like Claud I was 3 cm dilated for 2 weeks and nothing, eventually my water broke (3 weeks early) no contractions so they had to induce me!!!

I was also 1cm for a few weeks, can drag that way! so dont be scared off by the 'move right along'
but then again...
ya never know !
