Today is my and FH's 4 year anniversary. We weren't really planning on doing anything much except maybe dinner out. We were going to celebrate on Friday. But now tonight we have to go out to Staten Island for a wake. We are going with FH's family and can't fit all of us in one car. FH's mom said that she want's to have a girl car and a boy car (like we're in kindergarten ) and I am kinda upset because I wanted to be in the car with FH. I might be being childish, but this is going to be really the only time we get to spend together. I don't want to make a big deal about it and feel like a child, but it's our anniversary! I don't know...I just needed to vent...thanks girls!

So why don't you just tell her that you would rather go with FH. I am sure she will understand. Or have your FH tell her.

i hear ya. i hate when FMIL makes dumb rules liek that. i just want to do what i want to do and that is it. i am a big girl and can make my own choices.. dont need a boys and girls car.

Happy Anniversary! I would just tell FMIl that you and FH are going to take your own car because you are going to go to dinner right before or after to celebrate your anniversary.
