Is this standard? My appt is in Sept. at 20 weeks ( I hope that isn't too soon..I think I scheduled it right?!) It's at the hospital where I will deliver. What is the 4D - if it's not standard what is? Do you have to ask for this?

Jenny- your 20 week (or so) sonogram is called Level 2 and they do it to make sure that all of the organs are formed and the heart and limbs are formed. You can also find out gender at that stage.
4-D is NOT standard practice. Not many hospitals or offices even have the equipement. I had to search for one and then find one that would do this for a non-medical reason. Also, you need to verify that your insurance will cover it or else it is about $400 or so to have it done.GE 4-D Link
