I'm getting married September 14th....and up until quite recently it seemed as if everything was going extremely well. Now, it's as if everything that could possibly mess up, is doing just that. I'm not sure if my cake will be ready by the time of the reception, my dj just vanished now we are having my aunt play a CD (which I don't like the idea of, but limited on options), the bestmen's ties don't match the bridesmaids dresses, and we ordered them too. My FH has to leave for Atlanta less than a week after we get back from our HM (which is going to be at the same hotel where I work, the one we booked previously just told me they'd cancelled and we can't really afford to travel very far), the bridesmaids are my sisters, and I love them to death, but they argue non-stop and couldn't decide on what to do for a bachelorette party, so I'm not having one. I know, this is a lot of ranting but it's all adding up and I only have 5 days to fix it! Oh, to top it off the Monday and Tuesday before the wedding I'm scheduled for 2 14 hours shifts. I don't know what to do, if ANYONE has ANY advice PLEASE tell me. Thank you so very much.

My advice...whatever will be...will be!!!!
This is about you marrying the man you love and nothing else. Keep your head up and smile!

Re: 5 Days....and A Million Problems
I'm just worried that our wedding will be completely messed up. The majority of the time, this stuff doesn't bother me, as long as I end up LEGALLY eligible to be Mrs.Barr...then I'm happy. It just gets extremely frustrating at times.

Ah....I know. I'm getting extremely impatient. I think that the days are lasting longer on purpose and at other times I think they fly by much too quickly. If that makes any sense what so ever.

Calm down, take a hot bath, a deep breath, a shot of vodka, and RELAX!!!! Everything will be fine! If you want a DJ-get out a phonebook-maybe you can find someone. Or, get a really nice Ipod (like 80 gig) and put a TON of cool music that you pick and place it on shuffle. It will be wonderful and personal because it will be everything you like and you won't have to worry about someone playing something that makes you cringe!
Everything will come together, and you will be so happy that you won't notice anything on your day! I am sure of it! Sorry FH has to go away after, but unfortunately life goes on after the HM (trust me, I wish we could be on our HM forever!!!), and he will come back and everything will be okay. Remember, everything will be okay, and I really think that we brides tend to notice the little details because we want our day to be perfect (not that there is anything wrong with that), but most likely, people will not notice anything except the beautiful bride and groom!
And sorry about your BMs-that stinks that they are being such babies!

I'm so sorry
I say try to fix whatever you can (dont forget to get FH to help...and maybe even your family) and whatever happens - happens. You'll still get married and have the time of your life!
