5 Months To Go......HELP!!!!!

So today is my 5 month mark and while I'm so excited, I feel soooooo behind. Can you please help me organize/prioritize what I have left to do??? I have so much left and I'm starting to feel too overwhelmed. I start to get hot and panicky when I think of how much time I have left.

Pick a seamstress for my dress alterations (my dress is a sample)
Pick favors
Order placecard holders (doing votives)
Pick tuxes for the GMs
Pick hair/my person (have my 1st trial scheduled for the 28th of Oct)
Plan candy buffet
Pick songs
Pick invitations (I have my choices narrowed down I just need to bite the bullet and decide)
Plan and choose a place for rehearsal dinner
--Do I need to do favors for the rehearsal dinner?
Pick our honeymoon spot and book it

Am I crazy thinking that I still have enough time to do all of this???? The sad part is I used to do this kind of stuff for a living but now when it comes to me I could not be more of a procastinator. I just think that as more time passes and it becomes more overwhelming I just want to put it off more.

Don't stress too much (like i'm really one to talk LOL). Take things one at a time. Most of them can be done relatively fast. I know that we stll have a lot of those left also.

Our HM is only partly planned, but you need to at least figure out where you want to go. I'd say tthat's probably a priority as are invitations..

I'm not scheduling a hair trial until Jan because i'm letting my hair grown out.

For tuxes, most places only require 1 month notice.

First of all - take a DEEP BREATH!!!

Nothing on your list is an emergency thing....it can all be done and not be stressed about! Please don't think i'm belitting your fears - but it's not like you need a dress, shoes, photographer, RH, etc...

I'd say the most urgent thing would be to find a seamstress....but even that can wait a little longer...

Put some feelers out for the hair/makeup person & start thinking about your favors...

If you start stressing - you are only going to make it worse on yourself & you'll kick yourself for putting things off.

You are doing just fine!

i'd say right now all you REALLY have to do is:

Seamstress
Honeymoon
Hair
Wedding invites

you seem to be on track so far! congratulate yourself on getting all the other stuff done already!!!


As for favors at RD...you dont need to give them out. your BP and parents will be getting gifts from you anyway

A few weeks ago I was completely freaking out but suddenly I have this 'quiet calm' in my head especially since most of the bigger things are done and its the smaller tasks. It seems like there are a lot of them but it will all fall in place.

My biggest fear is dresses since the only one that has one is MOH. I'm not freaking out since her dress was in in less than 3 weeks. I'm supposed to visit my friend in DC in a few weeks and we'll look at dresses then. My mom and I are hoping to go shopping next weekend which is going to be hard since she broke her ankle and can't stand.

Concentrate on your hair person first. Then do invites. I just chose mine last night i still have to order them. Honeymoon, seamstress then do favors. I don't' think you need to do favors for the rehearsal dinner. I know I'm not. The tux's you have time for that. You only need like 2 months not even just a month to order there tux's. Songs you don't need to worry about that yet. The first dance song you might want to know but the rest of songs to be played take your time you hear something you think will help the party write it down.

Forget about seating charts and all that stuff cuz we can't do that until the RSVP's come back

I know I've been to a couple of RDs where they bride gave out favors. So I'm guessing that was something super-extra and not required then??? I just want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing......

So you haven't booked your honeymoon either??? I tell people this and they look at me like I have ten heads!! Are you worried, or are you not taking it right after the wedding?

I have never gotten a favor at an RD - i don't think you have to worry on that front at all!!!

Best of all - he doesn't charge you anything!

Oh good, I'm glad (about the RD favors).

How does he get paid then if he's free to work with? I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff....
Do you go meet with him or is everything done over the phone/via email?

It's funny because I didn't think there was going to be this many weddings in March. I know of at least 3 on the 16th now. I guess the closer it gets, the more people come out of the woodwork.

Don't worry too much, We've been stalling on planning our HM also, i keep on hoping that prices will go down. We're going away after our wedding but our actual HM won't be until May.

Everything with him is via phone or email...i'm a much bigger email person than phone...and he's 100% fine with that!!! I think he gets paid by Amex based on the amount of things he books...but he's so nice!!!

You do not need to be an American Express cardholder either!!!

Originally we were thinking about Vegas for a few days. SW hasn't released airfares for anything after March 7 yet. Unfortunately the prices have been going up so I'm not sure what we are going to end up doing. Hopefully we can get a last minute deal.

We are going on a cruise from Venice to the Greek islands in May, we have the cruise scheduled but no airfare or hotels.
