Re: $50 for a real christmas tree
I have always been a real tree enthusiast. However, this year at Home Depot I bought a $75 fake tree. It is 7.5 ft and pre-lit with clear lights. IT EVEN HAS A REMOTE!
I absolutely love it and it was simple to put up. I get so many compliments on it. I put up a glade scented oil thing and now the room smells like pine, too. Plus - NO NEEDLES! I highly recommend fake trees now!

Yeah first FH said oh lets go to Home Depot we went and I'm like I dont see anythign. They were all dried up and didnt have what I wanted. In Home Depot they were like $25 I always got them with my family from those guys that sell them on the street. so we went there and they were beautiful plus they smelllll so nice. the ones at our home depot didnt smell at all. im soooo excited to dress it up tonite :)

yeah its a rip off, especially if you go closer to x-mas since i guess they know alot of places sold out of alot of trees so it will be harder.

Re: $50 for a real christmas tree
Ours was $85 (8 ft) this year! But we ended up paying half price bc FH is in the FD in our town they discounted us, but i was still shocked at the prices they had for them. I really thought they went for 25 bucks!

Re: $50 for a real christmas tree
they vary in price depending on what kind and where you get them. Smaller nurserys tend to charge more.
FMIL told me that when they went for theirs the owner told her that because of the warm weather the supply was low this year -- at least for the type they got (I forget what it is called).

Re: $50 for a real christmas tree
Well I'm not sure if anyone has ever seen christmas tree farm, but in the poconos where we have a house they have thousands of trees just growing everywhere.
