50 person wedding on Long Island

I'm having a lot of trouble finding venues with minimums under 100 and we only have 50-60 people to invite. The only venues that seem like they would work are bars and restaurants. I'm flexible, but I definitely want a dance floor and DJ at my wedding, not just a sit down dinner (and we aren't getting married at a church so we also need a ceremony space). Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Yea, because wedding venues aren't making money off of parties that small.

You can have a great wedding reception, just have to find the right restaurant space.  My recommendation is Novita in Garden City.  Their downstairs is a lounge space with a bar and a separate room for dancing with a DJ booth - it's a club atmosphere.  I'm a pro photographer and have shot an event there before as well, and I work with the event planner that plans all the parties there.  Ask for Kat at Novita from Two Of Us Event Planners and tell her that Dara sent you.

Also, check out out Croxley's in Farmingdale.  They host small weddings of your size.

RE:50 person wedding on Long Island

The venue I'm using is the Bates House in East Setauket. Great for a small wedding. You get to rent the venue for 3 days - includes tables and chairs. Good for a DIY kind of wedding.
