My hall only makes you pay for 95% in advance,so that gives me 4 people who can cancel. better not be more than that. . .

UH OH! Now I'm gedtting nervous Not that I didn't think of cancellations but, it is kinda rude to say you'll be at a wedding and just not show up! My thing is: don't wanna come? Don't come, didn't want ya there anyway (but send a GIFT!! )

I totally know what you mean but sometimes cancelling can't be avoided. Cancelling is better than a no show. FI cancelled on Saturday morning for the Rhode Island wedding I attended on last Saturday night at Rosecliff Mansion.

I drove up with friends from work (in my car which was planned in advance). I was soooo pissed. Not only did I end up driving for over 3 hours but I also had to stay at a strange hotel in a place I had never visited before ALONE. None of the other wedding guests were at my hotel and my friends all picked different hotels. Actually 2 were at the same hotel but it looked like the Bates Motel and there was a resident of the hotel who truly looked like Norman Bates!!!!

FI worked late all week long so he could take off for the wedding and it just did not work out. He came over at 9 a.m. on Saturday with no luggage and told me he could not go.

He does property management and had to help with setting up a new floor of one of the buildings they run. It was finally finished late on Sunday night after they work late all week and over the weekend. I couldn't really stay angry though since it was a $15K job and a family owned company.

I called the bride and she was fine with it since she had 11 over anyway and needed the space.

I told FI he should write her a check for the $200pp cost of his empty chair. However, I had already sent her china from her Tiffanys registry with both our names to cover our plates - so I got the check instead.

Sorry to hear that. That is just wrong of people to do!

My neice is in the hospital...

Dunno... 2 year old with fever on catheter and IV; now they are giving her a cat scan...

Oh, so sorry.

Cat scan is probably just to rule out anything and IV is just to keep her hydrated so don't panic. They'll run some tests and figure out what's going on. There's been a virus going around for children, so it's possible that's what she has.


I'll keep you in my thoughts. Try to have a good day tomorrow, despite this.
