Help! Where do I get nice 60-cent stamps for the invitations?? I tried the US Post Office Web site and all they have are these horrible new technicolor 'Love' stamps. What happened to the nice old ones?? I'd even be happy with simple flags, since our wedding is July 4 weekend, but I can't seem to find 60-cent flag stamps either. Any advice is appreciated!

The only 60 cent stamp is the Love ones. I'm afraid that we are all stuck with them.

I didn't even worry about a stamp. I wanted LOVE but they didn't have it so I used a regualr 60 cent stamp (shown above).
I am told everyone just wants to see the invite, not the stamp!

I used that second one with the love stamp on the response envelope, it actually lookedd really nice with an off white invite envelope.

I originall thought they were horrible too, but when they are the only stamp on a large white envelope, they are fine. I have actually decidd that I like them

I used the national park stamp too. Alison, they are tough to find. I found them at the National Postage Store (go figure) in DC. It is in the Old Post office on Pennsylvania and 12th. They have pretty much ALL of your options so you can get a better sense. I seem to remember the lady telling me that new black and white photography 'collectors' stamps might be coming out. maybe they will be ready for your day.

Thanks, all. It's funny...all we wanted were flags...we assumed they were 'standard issue' and that the USPS would have them. Sheesh.
Jo, maybe I can come down and meet you for lunch sometime and look at stamps. I just wish work weren't so busy (and the other nonsense I told you about the other night that prevents me from doing things like taking long lunches downtown). I'm looking forward to seeing you and the other DC brides this weekend, though. How was your shower, btw? You'll have to update me on Saturday (bring pictures!)

You guys are lucky look at the ugly a$$ stamp we have to use
The old Love stamp with the red rose was the old rate of $.57. This has discontinued with the new rates effective June 30, 2002. Unfortunately, the only the Love stamp for $.60 is the technicolor. I also think it's tacky. Every year the Post Office comes out with a new Love stamp as I'm an avid stamp collector and been collecting for many years.
How about going for the American flag and get another stamp for $.5 to add up to $.60? Just a suggestion.
