Me and my sisters and my dad are all throwing a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom. we're doing a backyard party in July with catered food and we've already figured out the decor, we're just stuck on favors. i personally dont really think favors are needed, but my mother is like the favor queen. she even gives people favors when they come over for xmas dinner so i know she'll be expecting us to pass out favors. what should we do? something edible maybe? we're having about 75 people so we'd like to keep the budget for favors $7 or less per favor.
TIA

Re: 60th Surprise Party Favors
We did this for my Mom last year. We bought a load of Godiva chocolate bars in different flavors and then tied a favor card aroudn each. THey looked great and were snapped up by guests!

Re: 60th Surprise Party Favors
For my 30th bday party this past summer, my mom went to the Christmas Tree Shoppe and got the mugs that you can throw in the freezer and the liquid inside freezes and she got tootsie pops from Costco, banded them together, laid them inside the mug and wrapped them in cellophane with ribbon...everyone loved them and it was pretty cheap to do!

You can make chocolate lollipops and put a tag on them 'thank you' I love making chocolate! Who doesn't like chocolate!

Re: 60th Surprise Party Favors
these are all great ideas ladies thanks!!
there really isnt a theme my mom's interests are so varied its to hard to come up with one main theme.
we do have colors though the invitation is black and white with touches of pale pink, it has black flowers on it. so our plan is to decorate to backyard with a white tent, black and white balloons, white chairs, black and white streamers, white table cloths, black and white disposable plates/cutlery/cups and put light pink flowers on each table.
so now im thinking maybe the cake pops or the marshmallow version of them if i can find them in a pale pink. hmm maybe i can have them coming out of a flower pot and turn it into more of a garden party theme to better macth the invites.
this party is just the distraction i need from wedding planing i was getting burnt out!

Re: 60th Surprise Party Favors
Everyone loves food.
Just something to think about...
you said it is in July so just be careful where you store them so that they dont melt if they are chocolate or something.
