What size wedding are you looking to have? Does it have to be near the water? What is the price you are looking for?

Maybe if you tell us what you are looking for we can help

I second this. FH & I had a definate vision of our wedding before we started hunting. Also, if you have a budget in mind, we might be able to give you other suggestions & options. Nassau or Suffolk?

thank you ladies!!

- yes being near the water is def something i always wanted ... my fav place to be near
-guest list - 100 - 150 people
- price per person - no more than $90 ( includ tax and grat) --- dont know if that is feasible on LI? ((GULP))

- i am in Nassau but I dont mind going to Suffolk.. although i know the FH will ..

any suggestions?

You should check out Old Field Club!! I am going to be booking with them. They are located in Suffolk (Setauket) on the water and it is a gorgeous hall! They hold a max of about 160 people - so it's perfect for the number of guests you are looking to have. It's definitely unique and doesn't look like a typical reception hall. Their price pp is a little more than you are looking to spend ($110pp for a Friday wedding, $130 for a Saturday) but IMO it is definitely worth it!!! You should definitely check it out! HTH!

I booked the Riviera and came pretty close to the 90pp for a Friday night in May 2011.
It is on the smaller side even though they max out at 220 people I think that would be too cramped. Their minimum was 120 which was the lowest we found.
It is on the water and it is one wedding at a time. I fell in love with it when I walked in- however you have to like the wood! The room has the wooden beams on the ceiling and a big wooden bar- it's not a very bright room but with all the windows facing the water is gorgeous!

Good Luck!!!

haha I had a serious urge to just city hall the whole thing last week when I realized how much our budget has been kicked, slaughtered, and killed.

but I know in the end I'd always regret that.

FH & I wanted to do cityhall with a reception afterwards. My Dad was against it so we started planning a weeding, we wanted 125 guest that number shot up to 200+ (my Dad felt the bigger the better). A few weeks into the planning FH & I took control over the situation and decided on a destination wedding. That way we are getting what we want!!!
A small intimate wedding with the ppl that matter most, no matter what you chooses make sure You and your FH are excited and happy abt it.

If you want any destination info FM me

HTH
