7 Months and Counting...(**LONG**)

7 Months and Counting...(**LONG**)

We have about seven months left til our day and I feel like I`ve hit a lull in the planning activities. I guess it`s because when we first started, we did everything all in a period of weeks, including the church, reception, flowers, dj, photo/video and limos. My dress was ordered in early December, and the girls` dresses in early January.

We`re using bubbles at the church, and I`ve already received them since I found a great deal. (I hope they don`t go stale!) Our favor will be a donation to an animal charity that I will make in July. In return, we get a photo of the animal we help. We are going to tie the photo to a bell. We haven`t bought the bells yet, because we`re not exactly sure how many we`ll need. As it is I think I over did it on the bubbles! :)

So anyway, now I just worry if I`m forgetting to do something. We`ll probably start thinking about invitations over the next month. And tuxedos in April. As for the invitation list, I`ve been agonizing over that since we began planning. Neither of us has a big family, but we both work for decent sized companies. Plus, the company he works for is the same company I worked at before I switched jobs a few years ago to an even bigger organization. The agonizing has been over who to invite from the two jobs. I was always very friendly with many people at his job, and now work in a small office of just 3 (me and 2 other girls), but I have a lot to do with other departments and have become very friendly with many people at my current job. I don`t see the big bosses often and am having trouble figuring if they should be invited and where to draw or extend the line. I don`t want them to feel left out, but I also don`t want them thinking 'why did she invite me.' We`re looking to have about 150, and figure we should invite 200. Does anyone else feel like the invitation list is like a giant spider web that only gets bigger? LOL

If anyone`s still reading, thanks for listening! :)

Kel...I know exectly what you are thinking! I have 8 months to go and I feel that we are right on schedule with everything. The last big thing I have to do is get my bridesmaids dresses ordered. Im not sure if your read my dilema on the last board but I have been having problems with one of my bridesmaids. but hopefully that will work out!! :-)
I already have my invitations picked out...its just too early to order them. My fiancée and I have to guarantee 150 people for the reception and the guest list is about 205 right now!! LOL...I thought we were going to have a problem getting 150.
I wouldn`t worry about the bubbles...my mom bought my sister`s months before she got married and they were fine. She has already bought mine and is now decorating them

I also have a big dilemma with the invites at work...I work in a group of 5 woman...of which 3 of us are getting married. One of the girls is getting married in June and I`m not sure if she is inviting the people from work. I really want to invite them all but I don`t want them to feel bad if they can`t invite me. It should not make a difference right??

Well good luck with your planning! I think we should just enjoy the lull in the planning because as it gets closer it will get crazier!

Kel, you`re so cute. I can totally relate to the whole post. I hit a lull too at one point and I believe me, you have plenty done. You can take a bit of a breather on the planning. That`s not to say you will not be doing anything (guestlist, ideas, registry) but then when you get in the last month or so, it will really ramp up. I remember when I first came on the board, it seemed like everyone`s wedding dates were ahead of mine but now we`re getting married in 22 days. Just keep enjoying it. The guestlist is so funny, it was ever changing and growing and cut back and then added on. Even the final list ended up with us forgetting a few people and then a few invites were hand delivered with apologies. It will all work out.
He has a big family, mine is small. We have a lot of mutual friends. With work, every body`s situation is different. I invited 4 people and guests from my job. My fiance was inviting practically the entire world in the first round. It was the only thing I had a disagreement with him about with all the wedding plans. We have a minimum of 150 but I didn`t really want to go above 180. Looks like we are going to have about 160-165 and we went out about 215-220 invitations.
I will most miss my oldest friend who can`t come to the wedding because she lives in NC and has a 3 week old baby. But she`ll be there in spirit and love.
Hang in there and enjoy!!!
