Just wanted to share a little wedding tidbit: My parents went to a wedding at Chateu Briand on Saturday night (which by they way they RAVED about!) but it was 8 hours long!!!!!! it started at 6 and ended at 2! HOW CRAZY IS THAT? and they served breakfast before everyone went home! They gave these BEAUTIFUL lenox bowls as favors AND also gave the next days paper and a box of Krispy Kreme donuts! HOW INSANE IS THAT???????????

Re: 8 hour wedding!!!
I went to a wedding like that in Brooklyn a few years ago - it started at 7PM and ended at 3AM. They gave out bags of bagels and the Sunday paper on the way out. They had 300 people!!! It was nice but exhausting.

I went to one like that too... there were two entrees for everyone.... steak and lobster...we all got both, then there was a breakfast buffet after the venetian hour... there were two bands taking turns... I was falling asleep by 3am when it ended.

My dad was a club date musician for many years and once played a 12 hour wedding in Brooklyn. I believe it was for the Persico (crime) family. My dad said it was crazy! He was exhausted but afraid to stop playing because this wedding had a coat check AND a gun check!!

Re: 8 hour wedding!!!
I don't know if I go 8 hours, but I do wish it could all last a little longer. I would have loved to have an hour and half cocktail hour, reception for 4 hours and then an extra hour for vienese and more dancing- a total of 6 and half hours.

Re: 8 hour wedding!!!
I would have loved that for my day! I could have finished greeting everyone and taking pictures and still had plenty of time to dance and hang out!
