8/16/03 review
I wanted to finally give my review of our wedding on 8/16. I still don't have pics to scan but hopefully they are coming.
Rehearsal dinner:
Holiday Inn Rockville Center
I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and the service impressive. I paid 26$ pp and that included wine and beer. It was perfect for our out of town guests.
Church:
Our Lady of Peace RC church Lynbrook: What a beautful church. Deacon Neil was so helpful, especially since I planned the wedding from Maryland.
Hair and Makeup:
Jennifer from Fairytale. She is one of the most talented artists I have met. I have very curly, thick hair and she managed to make it look so sleek and classy. She was so calming and assuring, just what I needed. I would highly recommend her. I also had airbrushing which looks so natural.
Limo
Triple 'R' in Franklin Square. I would rate them a B+/B. They were on time, friendly, clean limos and the price was so affordable. But, they did forget to lay out the runner down the church isle. So, we all walked down without the runner. It wasn't the end of the world, but still something significant. THe price was really good and the limos were clean and new.
Photo
Devito Studio in Rockville Center. Mike was so pleasant and helpful. I really enjoyed dealing with him and especially since I was out of town, he was very flexible. I chose Devito because they were a smaller photography business, family owned, and were not so hard pressed to sell their services. On the day of the wedding, Mike was funny, flexible, relaxed, and non-intrusive. Also, his price seemed very reasonable. I will be picking up proofs this weekend.
Video: Lynn Den They were very nice to deal with over the phone and in person. Bob did our video and he was nice and non-instrusive. I haven't seen the video yet.
Reception: Sandcastle
As I mentioned in another post, this place was so impressive that people are still talking about the food and service. I didn't worry about a thing. Stravoula and staff were the kindest people..very genuine and down to earth. I have to say, I felt so comfortable with my choice at the Sandcastle because I really got a chance to talk with staff and see how they did things. We used the skyroom which was so beautiful. Our pictures look great, guests were just floored by the beauty of the place and the service, and I was a very happy and satisfied bride.
No honeymoon, I had to get back to work. Hopefully pics will be here soon. Thanks to everyone on this board...what a blessing!
