I am not Jewish, but Yom Kipur apparently starts on Friday 9/17 and ends on 9/18. Do you have any jewish guests? Are they coming for all or part of the wedding. Just curious.

Re: 9-17 and 9-18 Girls
if i were invited to a wedding on Yom Kippur, i would not go
however, i think most of my jewish friends do NOT fast and they would probably go.
ETA: if Yom Kippur ends on the 18th, i'd go to a wedding that day but i prob wouldn't get there till sundown so i don't have to wait to eat (it'd be a huuuge tease )

My BIL is jewish and he is coming to mine. I am guessing he is not very traditional.

My family wouldnt go and most of them arent religious. If theres one holiday the jews celebrate thats the one.
Hell my family would biatch and moan about a fri eve or sat day wedding too.

Re: 9-17 and 9-18 Girls
this has been the HOTTEST topic with MOST of my friends and at work...
some of my female friends are coming that are jewish. they will break the fast at the wedding. some of my other friends can't make it because they will be leaving the city to go home - i TOTALLY understand if they can't make it... I would love to have everyone come but i can't control everyone's decisions. ETA some people are only coming to the cocktail hour - some can make the WHOLE day

I only have 2 jewish guests both are coworkers. I know one of them is not religious at all- she doesnt celebrate any holidays but not sure about the other one. Neither has sent their reply yet
