I am very lucky that the two people I knew in the building got out safely (FFIL's college roommate, and a friend of my mother's). I thank God every day for them.

My thougths and prayers go out to all those who lost their lives, and their families who are still greiving their loss. We will never forget...

My post is dedicated to those who got out. I know a few people who struggle every day to forget that day and what they went through. I didn't know anyone personally who died. Sorry for all of your losses.

I'd like to remember everyone who dies on 9/11/2001 and also all of the people who died in Pinochet's military coup which started on 9/11/1973.

I'd also like to remember ikasse02's dad

My DH is from Bethpage. Mr. Hickey use to live across the street from my friend Joe. His kids use to come over and play video games with us. He and his family where buying a new house (also in Bethpage but a bigger house) and then 9/11 happened. All of the neighbors fixed up the new house and put a beautiful porch on for the family. I went to his memorial service. SO sad.

Michael Kiefer- graduated hs with him- friend of sister- lived in Long Beach.. was a fireman....

I Was just going to list his name. Never had the honor of meeting him, but know his parents and one of his sisters. What great people. From what they've told me, Michael was an AMAZING person and most definetely a hero.

I was going to list his name too.... he was actually my first 'boyfriend'... he gave me my first 'ring'... I was in 7th grade! I saw him once a few years ago at Nassau, I was shocked to hear he had died!

Paul Battaglia - he was a good friend.

paul's website

I went to Binghamton with Paul. I knew him thru the radio and that crowd. He was a year younger than me. I went to Binghamton's memorial courtyard last year and it is very touching.

I knew Paul from the same associations. He was a really nice guy. I didn't know him well, but I knew people who did.

I also knew Candace Williams - she and I were in dance class together for 7 years when we were kids. She was on the AA flight out of Boston.
