Re: Adrienne's

If you buy your wedding dress from them good luck. I would still search more to see if you could find it elsewhere.. My friend a bride got her's there and it came in on time and nice, but during her alterations the seamstress got makeup on her dress and it stained it.

but warning! Ps. Do not by any means have your alterations done there. And do not let your bridesmaids get there dresses from there bridesmaids cottage. They are horrible to deal with and I know many girls that have had problems with there dresses and sizing.
Also, there alterations women in there bridesmaids section are horrible, I have a ball dress to prove it, and my bridesmaids dress that I ordered for a friends wedding I took elsewhere!

You can search my posts. it should be under this name or 070502.
They lost my entire wedding, they would have gain me as well as my 6 bridesmaids and my mother. But no they had me in tears.

I had the owner of the store at my house one night delievering a dress which was still not fixed properly.

My advice if you choose not to believe me and your girl's are thinking about ordering there, just go on whatever night they do alterations and sit around and watch how unhappy girls are with there seamstresses..

ps. I can take shots with my webcam of my ball dress they ruined. and I can show my friends moh where they ordered her dress way too small, and then ordered extra material and just patched it in and it looked terrible!

Re: Adrienne's

My mom ordered her dress from them and had no problems at all. They were very nice and the alterations went off without a hitch.

Re: Adrienne's

I ordered my dress there, just before the negative posts on this board, which made me nervous for sure. I went for my first fitting a couple of weeks ago, and I will go for my 2nd in 2 weeks. I will post how it went.

Overall I would say the service has been ok. Not great, but not terrible. I found that it really depends on who's helping you.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I'll let you know about the alterations after the 23rd.

Jen

Re: Adrienne's

I am sure some people have had good experiences or they would be out of business. My sister got married this past march and we all had bad experiences with them. They were great before they got our money. They forgot to order her head piece but the worst were the alterations. Her bustles BROKE 10 minutes after we put it up. Thank god my sister had a great time, but the bottom of her dress was trashed. If you do go, make sure you double check everything. I also didnt like that I went to find out about her head piece and waited 45min!! They were very rude and said I had only been there 15! Just be cautious as with everything!

Re: Adrienne's

yes, I really don't understand how they are in business still.
They have some beautifual stuff and the set up well it is real perfect and pretty being in that house, but by no means does anyone need the hassale they give!
If you haven't had a problem good luck! Just be careful I actually know the name of the women who ruined my dress. My mom knows it because the women is a patient in her office and my mom wanted to scream at her when she came in.
I had a red dress, she altered it was black thread, my hem was unever, the one week see didn't take it in enough, then she got back at me the following weekend by making it skin tight, my ziper was on the side of my back not directly in the middle of my back. When the owner got involved she actually hand delievered my dress to my house (I was going to an Air Force ball in philly, and it was the following night and for 7 weeks I was making trips up there during rush hours to see how much they would continuely screwed up my dress). The owner sadly was even an hour and 1/2 late to my house and I had to run to go out and get something and left my dad at home and when she came she just gave it to my dad with no time to inspect, he said I should be home in a minute and she just walked out of my house has I pulled on the street when I got in my driveway she was gone. I threw on my dress for the ball and my hem was totally screwed up and I was walking on the back of it the entire time. Which was a huge pain because it was a military ball and you get announced in and have to walk in when your name is called! argh!

Once again with bridal dresses, I wouldn't be too worried... Just make sure the lady doesn't get her makeup on it and stain your dress like she did my friend.. but do not get your BM dresses there..

Re: Adrienne's

My cousin bought her gown from them and had a terrible time with the alterations. She wanted sleaves added to her gown. She was assured that they would get matching fabric from the same dye lot from the manuaracturer. Long story short - they didn't deliver what they promised.

Re: Adrienne's

I bought my BM dresses at Adriennes. I actually found them to be EXTREMELY helpful, accomodating and friendly. I had an issue with one of my BMs and the girls at the shop were awesome!
I ordered my dresses in April and they came in immediately (even though the wedding isn't until Oct.). I have seen the dresses and some of my BMs have tried them on already. Everything looks great so far.
The BMs are getting their alterations there early Sept. I'm sure they will be fine.
Adrienne's came recommended to me by a coworker (she was the MOH) and she had no problems.

Re: Adrienne's

I went to Adriennes and was not impressed at all. I did have an appointment, but the place was packed so it was annoying when you tried to get in front of a mirror. Also what really annoyed me was that I tried on gowns that looked horrible on me, with my mother in agreement, and they kept telling me how beautiful I looked. I looked ridiclious in them. And kept telling me that this was the one. I tried on about 5 or 6. They said that with each one of them. Go figure.........Needless to say I did not get my dress there........

Re: Adrienne's

My best friend bought her dress from Adrienne's last year and was 100% satisfied with the service and the alterations. I was with her when she had an appt. to try on dresses and Carolyn was extremely helpful and very nice. Because of her great experience, and inspite of the bad reviews on this board, I went to Adrienne's to look for my wedding dress. I had an appt. with Sophia and she was wonderful. She literally bent over backwards to help me to find the perfect dress...I must have tried on 20 dresses! In fact, they are even custom ordering a dress for me to my specifications. Sophia really went out of her way to make me happy. I would recommend Adrienne's and Sophia without hesitation. Just a word of advice...Everyone has different experiences at different places. If you had a good exerience so far at Adrienne's and want to order your dress from there, then GO FOR IT! I'm sure everything will turn out to be fine.

Re: Adrienne's

My Mom ordered her dress there, it's supposed to come in soon. She added things to it & I thought it was VERY high priced-I'm a little concerned about all the negative alteration posts. My Mom is less than 5 feet tall & needs tons of alterations I'm sure.
I'll let you know how we do.

Re: Adrienne's

Well the lady who ruined my dresses and some others was Elizabeta. Do not let her do your dresses.. She is more of a dressmaker and then semstress and supposslly makes dresses amazingily but she has an attiude problem doing alterations b/c as a dressmaker she has an attitude of how she should do your dress, and will agree with you and do it her way anyway.

Hence like with one of my problems, she made a comment to me about she didn't want to take it in at all, b/c she figured that way I could wear it in a year or so (I wanted to wear in it a month so I said no, I need it to fit now, plus I'm lucky, I have remained the same size for a long time, I can still wear my prom dress) so, at this point she went up stairs came down, and said she took it in, she didn't. So, then we got the employees involved, I went to HS with one of them and she started telling me how this women is always a problem and how I got stuck with her and she is bad, so then the lady goes back up to take my dress in (and she's pissed) so later comes back down and it is skin tight like corset tight and it is an A lined dress and she took it in two much on the one side so the zipper is all crooked..

So, needless to say if it is custom maybe you should try this lady b/c she is supposed to be good, but taking in, taking out, hems and straps I would stay very far away from her!
