Re: 'A Better Life' log
Great Idea!!
After three weeks of going to my Boot Camp class, I can finally do and complete all of the exercises (the push ups/ the plank/lunges with weights and all the other stuff).
It is a small milestone, but I am so proud. Even the instructor said I have been doing a great job.

I can run to catch a bus, or train and I'm not even winded. I could never do that before.

I haven't been sore from snowboarding in over 14 years!
I carry 10 plastic bags of groceries at a time so I don't have to go back out in the cold.

Re: 'A Better Life' log
Well, when I'm in good shape, I can ski, hike and do long bike rides without pain, which is something I value.
The most important benefit I have received from exercise however, is improved mood. I don't suffer from depression, but if I'm feeling depressed, anxious, or mentally exhausted, exercise almost always perks me up. And I'm also finding that I have less of these moods the more consistently I exercise.

Oh yeah, and if I'm angry, exercise is the best way to deal with the anger. By the time I'm done, I've calmed down, and I usually figure out a way to deal with whatever made me angry in a more constructive manner. Or, I realize it's not worth getting upset about and move on.

Re: 'A Better Life' log
I've working out my upper body a lot with weights (I have a strapless wedding dress). Anyway i wanted to see if I had gotten any stronger. So I decided to see how many push ups I could do on my toes. I got up to 15 - Always had trouble getting past 10.

I've noticed my cardio health is improving. I can talk while doing jumping jacks or while on the elliptical cross trainer.

Re: 'A Better Life' log
Me and Nic went for a walk tonight at my old highschool track.
We did a lot of talking. We talk a lot of course but it seems with planning the wedding and everything else (work, life etc), we have not just talked about the right stuff- does that make sense? Kind of hard to explain I guess.
Wll we walked about 1 3/4 miles around the track and just yapped to eachother. We spoke about the wedding, work, friends, baseball (well that was me) and everything else. We just walked and talked. I remembered 1 of the reason why I love her so much AGAIN.

Sounds like you had a great time! You are lucky to have that time to spend with each other.

Re: 'A Better Life' log
Actually - I'm taking this in another direction - I am physically fit, but mentally it is hard for me to slow down - so 1 time a week, i take a meditation yoga class. Not sweat and kick your azz astanga, but a slow, deep breathing type of class - I have always been about the sweat and the burn, and this has taught me how to slow down a little, and deal with stress - the most important thing I can do for myself right now!!!
