Bands are about 6000. Flowers are hard to estimate. It depends on what you are looking for.

Prices can vary so widely. It's really dependant on what you want and what you are willing to comprimise on. Bands are going to be more expensive than djs. As far as flowers goes, try sticking with flowers that are in season during your wedding month.

Re: A bride a real tight budget
Bands are pricy...can range from $3,000 to $6,000
DJ's can range from $900.00 to $2,000 depending on what party package you choose from....sometimes they include special lights, montage, etc... and the prices adds up. But if u're looking for something basic you wont spend too much
Flowers really depends on a lot of factors, types of flowers, how much, etc... start calling up florists and see what the best deal is for u

You should look into halls that include everything in the packages, not sure if you booked the RH yet but I know Brentwood Country Club does it and some more but I can't think of them off the top of my head
The number of guests is the major influence on the budget. Try to figure out the people that you MUST invite (family, very close friends, bridal party, etc) and try to stick to a smaller number.
DH and I did not invite any co-workers to the wedding, because if we invited one, then we'd have to invite 20, and then they all have spouses, which makes it 40...
You could just do flowers for the bridal party and parents and then DIY the centerpieces (candles, flower petals, seasonal fruit, etc.)
You can have a gorgeous wedding on a tight budget, and this site is a great resource!

Re: A bride a real tight budget
That will definitely help!
There's a lot of info about halls on this site. What areas are you interested in, Nassau or Suffolk?
Some things that will help you save $:
1)Having your wedding on a Friday, Saturday afternoon, or Sunday.
2)When you find some halls you are interested in, try to find out when their busy and slow seasons are (it varies depending on the location). My hall was way more expensive in the summer, so we chose the fall.
3)Halls will negotiate a lot more if the date is less than six months away. Last year, one of the halls offered us an unbelievable deal (almost half price!!!) on a date where they had a cancellation. Unfortunately, it didn't work for us.
Congratulations on your engagement!!!

RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH! I saved a TON of by really looking into every single aspect of the wedding...you would be surprised how much you'll save by shopping around! I found a wedding jewelery website with beautiful earrings for $5! You have plenty of time. Start with one thing (hall) and really look. Talk them down, get them to add stuff in. The more appt's you go to the more you'll see how much they NEED your business...that goes for photo/video, flowers, invites everything. Also think about making stuff yourself. Invites, centerpieces, save the dates...saved me a ton

Re: A bride a real tight budget
You can definitely do alot of things yourself to save money.
I paid about 1200 for a DJ, flowers were 1800, photo/video I paid about 6k.
Start with the things you dont want to cut back on-we all have these things. Book your hall and work from there. That will be probably your biggest chunk of change. You can do CPs yourself without losing out on anything, same with invitations, etc.
