A couple shares a placecard, right?

Would it be:
Mr. Robert and Carolyn Smith or
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith

If the children are young, it goes..
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Daniel Smith
Tim Smith

or

The Smith Family

If they are older, I would put them on their own card.

Just a personal preference, but I prefer:
Mr & Mrs. Robert and Carolyn Smith
or just Robert and Carolyn Smith

I already took my husbands last name, I didn't assume my husbands first name as well.

Yeah we did ours Robert and Carolyn Smith too. Children (since none were too young) had their own card.

Also many weddings I have been to have been each person with own placecard but that seems like a lot of work.....

For children not too young. I would do Miss or Ms. Jacqueline Smith

I would do first names too only b/c we have a number of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph _______ or Mr. & Mrs. Jerry ___________.

Great point!! We have quiet a few fathers and sons with the same name coming. Also, I like the post about how she didn't assume her husbands first name...I agree!
